Terra Subterranea and The Caverns of Lost Time

Dalamar said:
OoC: I posted Zack's action a touch higher. And also a note that currently Zack is going to die from losing his rage-HP (which, I believe, happens in two more rounds).

You're on my list, but you've got to back off or I can't help you. One Wendigo swipe will undo my best healing spell.
Thus, we create Hulkyr: large, green, and angry. If he isn't enough cover for your retreat, I'll toss in a sonic burst and hope for a bad Fort save -- but that's a slim hope.
So back off and bring your brother.

*Zack slashes three times with his scythe, focusing on accuracy and easily cutting twice into the wendigo's furry hide and splashing out ribbons of blood.*

(OOC: 34 Damage. You're going to have to decide whether to try for the trip. Keep in mind that the critter gets a large size bonus to oppose a trip and then again in its free counter-trip, and also that Zack dies if he gets tripped (since he can't retreat to Michael).

Also, Ducane's turn)

OoC: Hmm... Judging from the damage it keeps dealing, it's probably much stronger than Zack, so he doesn't probably have too great of a chance to trip it. Darn, that would've made things a lot easier.
Retreat with a 5ft-step after the full attack instead and hope that he isn't dead quite yet.

(OOC: Fair enough--that also gets you close enough to the edge of its reach that a withdraw won't provoke an AoO, unless it steps closer. We still need Ducane)

Glancing at Zack with a worried look, Ducane digs up a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds and drinks it.

OOC: 2d8+3. Sorry for the delay.

*One Wendigo continues laughing at a joke that only it can understand. The other, frightened by the fire elemental, swings once at the elemental, earning it a sharp rebuke by the Dragon in a harsh guttural dialect of Giant, at which point it swings its second claw at Zack and misses completely.*

(OOC: With a Natural 1 on the second attack--Someone's looking out for you, Zack. And I don't think anyone speaks Giant, right?

Eternity, Aya, Opale go here)

"That must be the worst idea I had lately." Opale tells to herself as she cast Confusion at the Dragon.

OOC: Knowing my luck, the spell will succeed, but the dragon will start to attack Opale and kill her.

[SBLOCK=Spell]Spell Memorized: (4+1/6+1/4+1/3+1/2+1)
DC: 15 + Spell level (+1 if Illusion)
0: Acid Splash, Detect Magic, *Ghost Sound, Mage Hand, Read Magic
1: *Color Spray, Disturb Equilibrium, Feather Fall, Grease x2, Mage Armor, Protection from Evil
2: Glitterdust, Hideous Laugther, Melf's Acid Arrow, *Mirror Image, Web
3: Dispel Magic, Haste, Fly, *Major Image, Stinking Cloud
4: Black Tentacle, Dimension Door, Confusion, *Greater Invisibility
*Bonus Illusion Spell[/SBLOCK]

(OOC: Hey, you saved Zack's life--the 14 would have hit. But yeah, the Dragon had Spellcraft and knew which spell you cast. As for the Confusion and kill you thing--never fear! Unlike Wendigos, Dragons have good Will saves (and SR) ;))

*Opale's spell fails to penetrate the dragon's powerful resistance to magic.*

(OOC: Eternity and Aya)

(OOC: Want to know the funny thing about the 8 that 'misses horribly'? It hits ;) And I rolled a 20 for you vs SR)

*An invisible Energy Ward around the dragon flares up and discharges in an enormous explosion of incredibly intense red flame and blue warding energy that clash and mix together. The dragon is only barely burned, but the ward is expended.*

(OOC: Dragon takes its first damage of the fight--exactly 1 damage, actually ;))

"Excellent shot. Let's see if fire will work on it now--"

*Aya focuses calmly on her spiral wandlike implement as she fires another pair of scorching rays at the dragon. Unfortunately, only one of the two rays strikes the dragon, and a bit of it seems to leech away into a second magical trap to dissipate fire energy. Still, the dragon's weakness to flame makes it worth it.*

(OOC: 21 Damage, so Dragon has taken 22 now)

*Surprised that its stronger ward was eliminated in one shot, the dragon makes a string of attacks against Eternity, slamming its jaws and crunching her within their sharp confines as it lashes her with both icicle-sharp wings.*

(OOC: 38 Damage total. You can negate 14 of it from the Bite for 7 PP and still be conscious at 4 health)

*Hulgyr moves towards the battle as Michael's spell finishes, thus creating Hulkgyr, the 9-foot-tall Orc with the power to kills things good. Real good. Then Michael hightails it towards the Brothers Grimm, exiting the area of rough terrain and returning to the icy path.*

(OOC: Grimms go here)
