Test my Knowledge (Arcana)

And now for a more serious reply.
Anybody who wants to answer please use the {spoiler][/spoiler] tags so as not to give other people ideas, like this
Use Ray of Frost!

THE PUZZLE:

You are in the middle of a vast, stony wilderness.

Before you is a round well 9 feet across. At the bottom of the well is a very fragile figurine that will break if anything heavier than 200 pounds falls down the well. Goal: Retrieve the figurine intact.

Plugging the hole is a granite sphere 10' in diameter. The sphere is polished to glass-smoothness and must weigh at least 15 tons.

The well is protected with an anti-magic field that fills the entire open space of the well. Outside the anti-magic field (within the surrounding rock) is a dimensional ancher, completely surrounding the well.

Retrieve the fragile figurine without damaging it. You may use a single wizard spell of 5th or lower level. No metamagic feats are allowed.

(this one should be easy. I'll figure out a harder one in a few days)

You're a 1st level commoner, all stats 3, with a scroll of limited wish preset to cast inflict minor wounds.

That's not fair, the commoner cannot use the scroll!!!

@MerakSpielman:
Fabricate a pick and well... this will take a while... ;)

Ok, I'll post an easy question as well, while you try figuring how to beat the Tarrasque Swarm...

You're a 5th (optional: 1st) level Wizard, you have been catched and imprisoned, all your stuff (including the spellbook and spell components) has been taken away. All your spells are used up. Get out there!

Merak-

Um, Stone Shape? Create a stone ladder with a large counterbalance with overhangs the sides of the well. Climb the ladder, retrieve the figurine and climb up again :)

I figure that this means the well is tightly closed. ;)

Al -
I don't see how the ladder solves the problem of the sphere covering the hole.

Thanee - are the detailes of the emprisonment important? If not, i'd just say
bribe the guards. They apparently didn't take any of your money.
