Thanks for keeping the BoVD thread open.

I think that was a good thread. The opnions expressed were diametrically opposed, yet it was civil.

Yes, a few people were offended, but that was their choice. I do not believe it is legitimate to be offended at someone because they believe their opinion is right. If you can't believe your opinion is right, then you are not allowed to have an opinion.

So, that said, I'm looking for feedback. Other than believing I'm right was I out of line? I'm assuming not since the thread ran its course.

Btw, I won't be trolling to merely get a rise out of people. I really do participate in discussions to exchange ideas.

I think it went pretty well too. Factors that contributed to it: people talked about themselves and their ideas/opinions, not those of others; there'd been a good cooling off period between Hickman's initial rant and the current thread; and there was less use of blanket generalizations overall. All of those things contribute to civilized discussion!

Seriously, I am glad to see how that thread turned out myself. When cool heads and warm hearts are the order of the day, instead of vice versa, the members of this board make this site a spectacular place for be.
