D&D 3E/3.5 The 4E Monster Manual -- what 3.5 monsters need the axe?

In the alternate universe I was discussing, Mind Flayers appeared before OD&D Supplement III: Eldritch Wizardry, which is where psionics were introduced. However, that alternate universe is not the real one.

In the real universe, Mind Flayers and psionics were introduced into OD&D at the same time, in S3: EW.

In other words, never mind!

Well, wait a minute. I seem to remember they first appeared in Strategic Review... #3? #4? My Dragon CDs are buried at the moment so I can't find out for sure right now.

I think it was Strategic Review #1. Anyway, their magazine unveiling was prior to Eldritch Wizardry.

Cut none; I want every damn critter that there is, whether it's from 1e, 2e, 3.x or Metamorphosis Alpha! Combine every extant monster book into one ginormous tome, with a portable digital version included gratis!

I want my beholders, grell, flumphs, rust monsters, piercers, illithids and aboleths alongside gimlocks, hobbits, derro, orcs, giff, Mul, ogre magi and elves of every flavor and stripe! Let there be dozens of humanoids and an undead for every day of the year! Give us our oozes, slimes, molds, fungi and walking stalking blood-drinking vegetables! Lycanthropes for every culture, climate and terrain!

Me must have our freaks, geeks and monstrosities, in mass quantities!
