"The Adventures of Indiana Jones" DVD boxed set

I say Raiders was the best Indy film too. It's just a great action film set in the 30s. What else needs to be said? There's a lot of good moments in the film, my personal favorite is when the Nazis get obliterated by the wrath of God at the end.

Last Crusade wasn't a bad movie, it was done much in the same style as the original, but there were too many silly moments in the movie that to me make it not as good as the original.

Temple of Doom wasn't bad, but I like it nowhere near as much as the others. The whole tone of the movie is different from the original from what I remember.

Got the set yesterday. I was $37.50 at Walmart. Looking forward to watching it soon (just after Matrix Reloaded, and before Lion King and 28 days...I spend too much money on DVDs at Walmart).

This was posted in a review of the DVD set on amazon.com:

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Deny.

I just got mine and watched RAIDERS. There are no cuts. Just to connfirm, I still have my laserdiscs of all three movies ( I was keeping them until I got the DVD's) and popped in Raiders just to be certain. Nope. The scenes on the DVD are identical to the ones on the LD, the ones I've been watching for years.

The guy is probably just remembering wrong.

It was a prequel? Please tell me I am not the only one who did not get that. Is there saome point in the movies where the dates are made clear?

If it is a prequel, all my defending of the second movie is wiped away, and I feel fouly betrayed. :(

At the start of Raiders, it tells you its like 1936, They say someplace in Temple its 1935. Not sure if those dates are right. But its something like that.
Picked the set up today. It has the same problem that Matrix Reloaded has, ONLY 5.1 audio, no other audio options. Second DVD in a row I bought and only has 5.1 audio. Multiple audio options are usally standard. Since I don't have a surround sound set up, it will sound screwy.

I didn't know, but then again, I have not watched the ToD since it was in the theaters. I probably wouldn't have noticed anyway as I don't pay a lot of attention to these things.

Watched Raiders last night--they removed the plexiglass reflection from the scene when Indy falls right in front of the snake.

Finally--digital remastering used to "fix" something that actually needed fixing!!

In addition to the snake reflection being taken out, I think they used computer effects when Indy is being dragged by the truck, so you can't tell He is in a ditch/ dug path.

My question is: When are they going to release "The Adventures of YOUNG Indiana Jones" on DVD?

Now THERE'S a boxed set I'd buy. Those were awesome.

Ha, these are actually slated for production (though I don't know if they will be sold as a set or individually). Depending on who you believe it will either be in 2004 or 2005/2006.

Maybe they tried...I could tell he was in a ditch, though.
