The Back Room

Morvannon follows Kamotz into the room and seats himself at the end of the table. He takes out the special notepaper and inkwell and begins scribbling a summary of their activities so far.

[sblock="Message to Reggie"]"Progress Report --
A. Gwendolyn (possibly also known as "Gwynyth") recognized by worker at harbormaster's office and by artist in Commons -- she did not take a ship.
B. Gwendolyn is likely a con artist. She has some connection with a possibly-criminal group that helps run things in the Commons. They do not know where she is either, but have information as to her last known location.
C. One member of the group has disappeared -- Tristan, the military fellow. We are currently in the back room of the tavern, attempting to recruit a replacement.

Further messages as warranted.

-- Morvannon Rinael"

When he is finished with the message, he folds the note carefully and ignites it from one of the candles on the table, placing it on a plate to ensure that it burns completely.

Reading over Morvannon's shoulder Kamotz interjects,

Let him know we have decided the girl will be given to another party for punishment. Also that we will be retrieving the ring before handing her over. I hadn't even thought to update Reginald...

Kamotz pats Morvannon on the back and smiles, before heading back to the table to begin drinking.

Magnus shuffled into the room softly jangling as he went, still cackling softly to himself. He moved ungracefully around the table, before finally taking as seat facing the door.

The terrible burden of knowledge...

He looked up at the shifter with sad, far away look. For just a moment he seemed incredibly fragile.

Some things...should not be known...A man does not worry about what he does not know...better...to say nothing.

Magnus's eyes narrowed back to the sharp shrewdness they occasionally took on.

He wants only the ring...no need to change that.

I won't make the final decision on Reginald's sanity...

Did you meet your brother or twin out in the bar? I heard you laugh.

An imposing figure appears in the doorway, his hulking six-and-half foot frame seeming to fill the entire space. It is a dragonborn in shining plate armor. Where gaps in the armor reveal the skin underneath, his red and yellow scales seem to be straining to contain his muscular form. Upon the breastplate of his armor is emblazoned a sunburst with a dragon coiled inside of it. A flail hangs at his side and a large shield is strapped across his back. He confidently strides into the room.

"I'm Vrrsk't," he says, though the name sounds more like a low growl with some clicking sounds at the end. "I understand you may be looking for assistance. I am in this place performing a sacred mission to bring the light to this darkened world. If your work is in line with my mission, I may be interested in joining you. Tell me more about the nature of your work."

Morvannon looks up at Kamotz. "Yes, I think that would fall under the heading of 'things he doesn't need to know' -- at least not yet."

His attention is then captured by the entrance of the large dragonborn.

*mmm, divine righteousness is so shiny*

*Please don't, I don't want to laugh in his face.*

*who cares what you want?*

Morvannon coughs behind his hand before addressing the newcomer. "Well, our basic task is the return of stolen property to the rightful owner. Will that do?"

HA HA, sure...

I suppose we did originally sign up to return the band.

Vrrsk't
repeats Kamotz, almost perfectly, rumbling the R's and clicking the '.
Your presence would certainly brighten our pack, our mission would be much darker without your escort.

glancing at Mikara, Magnus, and Morvannon,

I bet this one is followed by a wake of death. Look at the size of 'em, bigger than me. Natural scales to boot.

Kamotz leans away from Vrrsk't and begins in a whisper [sblock=Morvannon, Magnus, Mikara] The big scaly thing will draw attention like a holy beacon, because he is. I see a bright light, smiting darkness, and harried by shadow. I'd like to continue to watch.

Turning back,

I'm Kamotz, came through the drowned man, looking for Death and his followers.

In Bacarte there is a rumor that you scaled folk are Bahamuts children, is that true? Before you ask in return, yes one of my parents was human, the other was infected, and no I am not infected. I don't shape shift, I can't infect you, the moon won't send me into a bloodfrenzy.

Cheers, roadtoad, love to have you along. In fact I saw you before I ever dropped by here, and thought that Vrrsk't was perfect for our crew of crazies.

If everyone else is good, and you are, we will be heading out ASAP to the adventure thread. We have all been waiting to get moving do to our original DM going AWOL, and losing a member in the process.

Pack, is Vrrsk't in? :) Vrrsk't, you in? :D

sidenote:RedBeardJim, The voice in Morvannon's head makes me laugh out loud fairly consistently, divine righteousness IS shiny, HA HA HA.

Vrrsk't smiles at Morvannon's mention of the return of stolen property. The broad, toothy grin is a bit unsettling, as it appears Vrrsk't would have no trouble fitting the average person's head inside his mouth.

"The protection of property rights is an important task. Hmm..."

Vrrsk't expression becomes more contempative for a moment. He seems to be considering whether this ties in with his own goals when Kamotz starts talking. Vrrsk't brightens at Kamotz's rendition of his name and the mention of "brightening" the pack.

"A pleasure, Kamotz," he says, shaking the shifter's hand, "I would love to join your 'pack.'"

"While I have heard of this Bahamut, I do not know much about him or his clan. My people, the Sunfolk, are children of the Everburning Dragon of the Sky, who you may know as Apoli. Eons ago, our Shining Empire ruled the land now known as Allaria, but there are few of us left these days. Only a handful of us travel the world any more, bringing the light of His judgment to those who need it... one way or another."

[sblock=OOC]I'd love to join. As you can see from my post count, I don't know much about this world and I haven't played in a PbP in forever, but I'm looking forward to it. :) [/sblock]

Kamotz starts for a moment when Vrrsk't extends his hand, finally understanding how people could be hesitant about shaking his. Reaching out and shaking heartily, reaffirmed that the pack is strong, the urge to hunt and see a kill wells within Kamotz.

Before I believed we were strong enough to accomplish the task, now we are stronger than before.

Apoli, I have heard the name scarcely, but his children certainly seem well built. In Bacarte Apoli's children hold positions of esteem, but there are very few as large as you! You are also the first I have had conversation with.

Shall we off to the Starkreach?

[sblock=OOC]

Don't rush your RP if you want to stick around here, I'm just going to let garyh know who our new member is.

Does anyone object to getting back in the adventure thread and heading to the starkreach?
