The Banewarrens: Allies and Enemies

Malikar sighs. You know, if I were you, I'd leave pretty shortly. The Vladaams won't be happy with what we're going to do, and you'll most likely be severely punished for failing to stop intruders. Probably killed or tortured. Besides, working for an evil organization just shows acceptance of their evil. Look, if I untie you, you think you can wait an hour before sounding some kind of alarm?

Malikar turns to the two prisoners. My friends and I are currently involved in steal... no, liberating something from the vault. After that, we'll leave. Okay?

Titus keeps a careful watch, but the streets and the estates near the Vladaam compound are deserted at this time of night. There's no sound from within the compound, either, which must be a good sign.

-----------------------------------------

Neither the chest nor the box are trapped. The chest contains a large quantity of gold coins (Krug guesses more than a thousand). The bronze box contains a cloth-wrapped bundle shaped like a human hand. The other relics and art pieces in the room also appear valuable.

-----------------------------------------

Nicalon heads out of the prison area towards the vault to check on Krug's progress.

The guard shakes his head at Malikar's suggestion, "I think you'd better leave me tied, otherwise it will look like I aided the prisoner's escape. If you don't mind, I'd also like to be unconscious when they find me."

"I'll leave, but it wouldn't do to run off into the night. The Vladaams have powerful magic at their disposal. If they suspect I betrayed them, they'd find me. Might be they'll dismiss me for my failure. Otherwise I will offer to resign. If they choose torture then I'll have to hope some other blokes like you come along."

Please see my post in the OOC thread. :)

Morden addresses the prison guard, "If you ask me, your plan lacks good sense. Chances are that you'll be slain outright for failure when involved in an organization so accepting of evil practices. But it's really up to you, although I think knocking you unconscious is not out of the question. Would you do the honors, Malikar?" He steps back from the prisoner and watches Malikar's reaction.

I agree with Morden. Still, it's your funeral. Malikar then batters the guard into unconsciousness. He turns to the two recently freed prisoners. Would you mind following me, to where my friend is? Oh, and do you two need any sort of healing magic? Malikar will heal any that do, and then lead the way towards the dwarven trapman.

Let's hope he hasn't stolen half of what's in the Vladaam vault right now.

After Malikar has rendered the poor guard unconscious again, he and Morden escort the two released prisoners out of the prison area.

Krug quickly grabs several handfuls of gold coins (50 gp). Nicalon speaks up from behind the dwarf, "While I understand the urge to inflict some financial harm to the Vladaams, this isn't the time for petty theft. If that bundle is the item we are looking for, let us be gone from this place!"

------------------------------

Bilbo has reached the wizard's room. The wizard is there relaxing. Fallon has already learned everything he can from the servants tonight (about the agents, the wizard's physical characteristics, and orders about tonight).

OoC:Er, maybe Fallon and Verakka should have planned this a little better, we aren't in contact with the other group...

IC: Verakka will tell/empath that Sletha should look for Dyrnas, using her Scent .

Dyrnas, far below, thinks that enough time has elapsed without word, and casts Locate Object , focusing on one of Verakka's
swords (the gladius).

Malikar sighs at Krug's greed, but issues no word of protest. He turns to the two former prisoners of the noble house, and a question on his face. Take what you want, and then we shall leave and hope our passage has been undiscovered as of yet. Malikar then exits the treasure chamber to be certain that no guards are approaching their position.

Meanwhile, Morden is unable to keep his mouth shut in regards to Krug's behavior. <color=blue>"I trust that every single one of those gold coins will find themselves in the purses of deserving and legitimate charities and orphanages."</blue>
