Johnnie Freedom's thread on AD&D 2e made me think of this little lesson I learned many years ago. I fell in love with GURPS (or at least in lust) and bought a bunch of supplements, etc. The problem was I couldn't find anyone who wanted to play. Back in those days, everyone wanted to play either AD&D 1/2 or Vampire:TM.
How much of a problem is it for you to find people to play your favorite system? I currently play 3.5 simply because that's what everyone else plays. I'd be interested in hearing people's experiences in finding players for:
--AD&D 1 or 2
--RC D&D or Basic/Expert D&D
--D&D 3.0 (there's apparently a lot of people turning up their nose to 3.0...if you haven't "upgraded" they don't want to play
)
--any other "pet" system you have.
