The Captain's Caper! (Dunamin judging)

OOC: Woohoo! Here we go again!

-Quagmire jumps across the gap between the ships and smashes one of the weaker goblins down to the deck with a single blow.

-Girth nearly dissapears in the darkness of the storm, and moves unseen to the edge of the bloody wake. But the target of his spell is unaffected.

-After seeing one of their own fall, the goblin cutters surge forward and swarm over Quagmire (like some rats that you remember from the day before). Two of them manage to pierce the hobgoblins defenses, while the third misses.

-Some of the goblin warriors shift position, while the one closest to Quagmire bull rushes at him and barely manages to knock the hobgoblin backwards on the storm tossed deck. The next thing he knows, Quagmire is being pushed over the rail of the ship as he falls off balance. He grabs for the rail desperately to keep from falling into the sea between the two ships! (Need a saving throw roll from Quagmire to keep from being pushed over the rail. If you roll 10 or higher, he falls prone in H7. Otherwise he goes over the rail to I8.)

-Quagmire can roll his saving throw and Alex and Hrav can go...

Crap! Hold on Quag! shouts Alexander as loud as he can in the storm, then he takes a deep breath in, and runs wildly across the deck, holding his sword and shield and jumps on the other ship with the noise of a falling boulder.
He grins cruelly at the goblin warrior that tried to push Quagmire out of the ship: Hey, little ones! let's how you do now!
...and swings his sword wide at him and the other goblin between himself and Quagmire.

Hrav leaps across the water to aid Quagmire, trapping one of the cutters between the fallen hobgoblin and himself. A quick stab through the chest, and the goblin falls over the side of the boat and into the drink.

"Don't mess with Quag!" the bugbear roars.

Keen to pull his weight, Girth once more flashes his fingers and another beam of strange laughter hits the nearest cutter. More successful than his last attempt the goblin drops lifelessly to the decking.

[sblock=OOC]Eldritch Blast vs C5; 24 vs Ref (actually should be 23!)http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1917705/ Damage 9; +3 Curse = 12: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1917711/ [/sblock]

With still more goblins to be dealt with Girth focuses the wrath of his patron at the tough looking goblin near the stern of the boat and then steps through the Astral weave to the stern of his own vessel. [sblock=OOC]Warlock’s Curse on W4 and Shadow Walk to R9, gaining concealment by doing so.[/sblock]

Exerting all his energy towards a successful outcome he sent forth a light - a dark light, from a dead or dying star - into the very soul of the goblin warrior.
[sblock=OOC]Action Point spent - (Action Surge gives +3 to hit) Dread Star 26 vs Will; Damage 10 +2 (Curse) = 12; Roll Lookup Warrior immobilized till end of my next turn and -2 to Will Defense (save ends)[/sblock]

-Quagmire stands up and lashes out at one of the weaker goblins, dropping it easily to the bloody deck where it is quickly lost to sight in the downpour.

-Girth blasts the nearest goblin into oblivion before cursing another goblin and walking through the shadows to unleash a dark light that burns the goblins mind.

-The lone remaining goblin cutter slashes at Alexander and manages to find a way through the fighter's defenses. (5 damage to Alex)

-Two of the goblin warriors go on the attack as well. One slices at Quagmire while the other tries to stab Hrav with its spear. Both miss their marks though. The other warrior moves to behind the crates of cargo near Alexander. He cuts the straps tying down the crates and barrels and gives them a mighty shove. As the stack begins to topple towards Alexander, he has only moments to escape the avalanche of cargo. Somehow though, he manages to dodge the bulk of the falling boxes and escape without injury. (The squares with boxes in them are difficult terain, costing 2 squares of movement instead of one.) The last warrior (the one Girth hurt) stays where it is hoping its head will clear soon...but that just doesn't happen yet...(failed its save vs. immobilization)

-Alex and Hrav can go now...
