Girth has been behaving strangely ever since the first night at sea after retrieving the gems. He has been uncharacteristically silent and his face has been set in a permanent smile - not a pretty sight at the best of times - with his eyes fixed on something just over the shoulder of whoever he happens to be facing.

Now, hearing his name mentioned he stepped forward. He bows deeply before straightening and fixing his gaze on a point just over the left shoulder of the bugbear.

"Close it grows. The future nearly set it is - a bright, glowing path that before us stretches. Walk upon the stars we will" his voice deepens and sounds almost like another person "but blood will show the way. And on our path thou art. Greatly she favours you."

Quagmire looks from Hrav to the other bugbear and back, with an eyebrow slightly raised. Pa? Hmm... Have to make sure to use the blunt end of the sword, if it comes to that.

He hooks his thumbs into his belt and gives his best careless smile, complete with protruding tusks. "And that goes fer me, too, whatever he said. Well, if Redblade wants ye to check the loot, he musta given ye the key, aye? Brudd why don't ye set that chest on the table fer our friends, hey?"

Brudd nods in silence to Quagmire, seemingly stunned by the revelation of family working for the other side. The minotaur sets the chest down on the table all the hired muscle was sitting around a moment ago. Ghren pulls a chain off from around his neck with a key attached and inserts it into the chest. Turning the key, he unlocks and opens the chest. Scooping his hand in, he lifts out a handful of gems then lets them trickle and fall back into the chest. "Looks good to me. Small red chest full of gems opened with this key. Looks like you get what's comin' to ya. Here ya go - the location of your cargo is on this scroll Redblade said. Hope everything go well for you and your new mates, Hrav. I gotta deal with this chest o' gems now, so you all take care. Nice to meet some friends of my boy." Ghren says as he tosses a sealed scroll over to Captain Azrael.

Azrael opens the scroll and reads down its length, his face getting redder and redder until he crumples up the scroll in a ball and screams out loud: "Damn you, Redblade! Damn your lying, forked, demon tongue to the Nine Hells!"
[sblock=scroll]Greetings Captain Azrael, as my man said, this scroll will reveal to you the whereabouts of your cargo. Sadly for you, it is no longer here for you to pick up and make your delivery with. I did some research and found out who your buyer was and have sent the cargo there myself to transact the deal and make the profit in your place. Not to mention the price on your head for not keeping your end of the bargain with her. If you haven't met any of her bounty hunters yet, I'm sure you soon will.

If your anger is too intense to hold back, feel free to take it out on the hired muscle or innocent bystanders there in the Inn, but you won't find me anywhere nearby. By the time you read this, my goblin crew will be halfway to the meeting point near Kythira. You'll never catch them in time, especially if you start fighting now and get thrown in jail. So enjoy wallowing in your depression and anger till the next time that we cross paths,

Duncan Redblade

P.S.- I did cheat at that card game where you so stupidly bet your ship. Just thought it would be fun for you to know that little fact as well.

"We gotta get back to tha ship. If the winds are with us, we may just be able to catch that goblin crew o' his before they make landfall and deliver MY cargo to the buyer." Azrael says while looking at the party with a fire burning in his eyes. "Lets finish this and steal Redblade's victory from him, then we can come back and take our pound of flesh for the trouble he's caused us all..."

Quagmire stares at Azrael for a moment, then bursts into laughter. "Gotta hand it to ol' Redblade. He's a liar and a thief, but damn if he ain't got style. Come on, let's see if we can't find chase down this cargo. Even if we don't get there before the goblins, they gotta come back this way with the payment, right? Don't you worry, Azrael. This ain't over yet."

If there is time before the ship leaves, Quagmire would like to find somewhere to buy a rapier, since he took that feat at level 2.

"Take care, Pa," Hrav says. "Hope business stays good for ya."

Turning to his companions and Azrael, Hrav observes, "I'm thinking this might be a good point to discuss our fee, and the increase in said fee now that we'll be chasing the cargo itself all around the Transitive Isles, fighting Redblade's goblins for it."

Now this, my friend, is the wisest thing I've heard in a while comments Alexander, stroking his beard, ...and I think our equally wise captain will be very generous in his promises, unless he thinks he's got the time to find a cheaper party while his precious cargo is being sold...

"It matters little" muttered Girth "greater things before us are. And you, friend Hrav, for thy father here to be, an omen it is. Last evening of a starry path I dreamt , a path to a place of pleasure beyond imagining. Formed it was of the fabric of my visions."

He turned to Alexander "Thee, Alexander, thee were the first to be counted. And now the father of Hrav we meet. This brings into contention his son, our friend Hrav. And so now we are three together."

Now looking around the room "But more are still to be called. And blood still awaits before that sainted place we reach."

"Ya know," Hrav says, shrugging at Girth's speech, "I never do follow what he's saying till he gets to the part about blood. Luckily, he always seems to come back to that."
