The CB is still crappy

It's starting to grow on me a bit, too. When it catches up to the cbloaded offline one, it might actually prefer it. However, it's way behind right now.
Honestly, the only sticking points for me right now are

(1) I want a sheet that shows its work,
(2) Sheets-as-images are lame,
(3) More houseruling would be nice, but it's not super-important for my current campaign. Inherent Bonuses were the critical bit.

Sounds like the beta test is moving in a positive direction. Sure glad I am not paying for it anymore. /zing!

Have the load times improved at all since February? I remember selecting my character's ability score point buy, and every time I clicked to increase an ability by 1 point there was a 4-5 second pause. Alone it was no big deal, but repeated it was a pain in the burro.

And my custom laptop is no slouch.

In general the load times have improved significantly. Assigning ability points can still get tedious, but it's pretty quick now. It will never be as fast as an offline tool, because it has to connect to the server every time a change is made. Sometimes this will be almost instantaneous, others it will take a few seconds, but right now it's usually the former.

In terms of load times, the most painful thing is when you're using the search option for feats, because it's an active field rather than something you type in and hit "enter" for. In other words, if you're typing "Poison" then it will run the search for "P", "Po", "Poi" etcetera.

It's much faster, but you still really want to type the numbers in. It's down to 1 second or less, but it's still annoying.

I wouldn't consider it beta software anymore. I was super-critical of the online version when it came out, to the point where I let my subscription lapse, but I can honestly say it's much, much improved.

Ditto.

House rules are a little bit more important to me. I'd like to be able to type in the name of a custom deity, like in the offline one. I like to add gods to my campaign. Although, I'd really like the ability to select domains for custom deities, something not even the offline CB did.

Dannyalcatraz:

Sorry about all that. Have you tried sacrificing Bill Gates to the computer gods?

I have still yet to be able to use the CB without it crashing.

At least the fancy monster compendium worked slightly better.

Find alternatives. They exist.

I have an alternative- the books- but that's not the point.

I finally did get the thing to work againand basically completed the PC. Then, on a giggle, I checked out my PC again...and noticed he wasn't quite right: a power he has by by virtue of multiclassing has 2 cards, one which correctly identifies it as being an Encounter Power, and the other (with all the mechanics) listing it still as an Augmentable At Will. The first part I can deal with because of the other card, but the latter part is simply wrong, since it should not be Augmentable.

I don't think that's what he meant by alternative.
