The chamberlain, the king, and the dragon (drobe)

Theren will follow Thurgon's lead. If he runs, he'll follow.

Athletics (15+11 = 26), I'd need a +2 floating around if someone has one, otherwise I'll follow behind.

I'll use Knack for Success on Thurgon for a +4 bonus to his roll.

Slipping on the remains of the troll that dissolved before me, I shout to Thurgon to make haste and I will follow.

Take a look at Savage Effort on your PDF, mate!

I did. Question about that though. It's a daily. Does that mean I still reroll, or is using it an automatic success since it's a daily?

Reroll. The healing surge for success applies to things like combat/utility dailies that don't have mechanics that interface with the skill system and have narrowed fictional positioning requirements. If the fictional positioning can be mapped, then you can spend a surge, lose the daily, accrue a success.

With these kind of skill dailies, they're basically open-ended, broad buffs to your skills (which basically makes them fictional positioning neutral, therefore always applicable), typically for the duration of the scene and you don't spend a surge; you just get 2 rolls for all Athletics and Endurance checks for the duration of the scene. If you deploy now, you get a 2nd roll for Athletics and if you used Endurance later (or Athletics again - which would automatically be at the Hard DC due to the 2nd use), you would get to roll twice for your result there as well.

Okay. Makes sense. I'll reroll and hope to beat an 11 lol.

5. Not better. Let's hope the others can make it!

:) Ok. Savage Effort is active for the duration of the scene so keep that in mind for the future.

FYI for anyone else. You guys have 4 total Primary Skill actions to reach 2 successes versus Hard DC. If someone wants to burn an action to Aid/support Thuron and give him a + 2, that would mean that you guys are at 1 for 2 and you'd need 1 of the 2 left to pass the hard DC. Again, this is an abstract effort in the totality. We'll see where the scene goes, pass or fail with this group effort. Individual failure doesn't necessarily mean "someone's a slow poke" or "someone is exhausted." It just means your group intent to make all haste to the King's chamber is complicated. We'll see what that means if it comes to pass.

[I have no desire to go running after this guy, even if it means the King dies. We can deal with the Queen.]

"Hold, friends," Quinn says. "We don't know if we can trust this man. Something foul has taken control of this court; we don't want to run blindly into its trap."

Presumably you are all sprinting toward the King's quarters at the top of the Castle on the Kingsmount? If so, I'm going to need a Group check; Athletics or Endurance, each of you can pick. This will be at the Hard DC of 28. If two of you pass, the check is successful. Remember, you still have 6 advantages remaining so if you want to use one now you can move the check to the Medium DC.

Thurgon has the advantage of Theren having already marked out the slippery parts of the floor - so I'll avoid them!

+16 Athletics, +4 from Knack for Success, makes it auto vs a Medium DC (and given my dice rolls, I need that): d20 = 17 (oh well, would have made it anyway even without spending an advantage) which is ample - if feasible, I'm happy to spend a Healing Surge to help Theren with a +2.

If we're splitting up, I'll call back to the other two (d20 roll of 9 +10 Endurance = 19 to call out while running): "Lucann, Quinn - find the Mage while we save the King!".
LostSoul, Campbell - I'm OK with splitting up if you are - Thurgon is pretty committed to saving the king.

If you guys are spending an advantage for the group check then you're good to go as Theren easily passes the Medium DC. Neither Lucann nor Quinn would need to roll as that would be 2 out of 4 (sufficient for success).

I'll hold off on moving things along until LostSoul and Campbell check in on this. If Thurgon and Theron (and possibly Lucann) are continuing with this scene and Quinn and Lucann (or possibly just Quinn) are looking for the Mage, we can run a concurrent Action Scene. I'll check back in later.
