The Closed Eye (DM: Halford, Judge: garyh)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr rgggghh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[sblock=Dead on arrival :(]Yes! It’s my first combat turn on L4W! So excited!
Where are they? How many? Which power should I use? I’ll go flank with…

Oh, all my allies backed off and abandoned me alone at the front? Eh, I’ll live I guess…
Dazed?? What, like, I only got one action? Bah!
Prone??!! I’m kissing the dirt already?!
Wait, what was that about my hp?

WHADDAYAMEAN I’M PRETTY MUCH DEAD???!!!!![/sblock]

Somewhere between the brutal smash that knocks him to the ground and the merciless beating to kick the snot out of him while he’s down, Woe faintly recalls a fond old memory during his initiation rites into the Skyborn Company…

He was dead drunk, sprawled out on the floor with the nozzle of a huge barrel stuck in his mouth and ale spilling all over. Kern came over with a goofy grin on his face and closed the tap for a moment, then crouched down by his side and spoke words of wisdom that would haunt him now:

“Remember kiddo, if you’re broken like an egg clobbered by an ogre and bleeding your guts all over, at least go down dying with a witty remark your foes can remember you by!”

OOC: Go Go Second Wind, dammit!

Woe snaps out of it and covers himself with his shield as best he is able, somehow even managing to giggle defiantly while coughing blood up from what he thinks is a broken rib that might have slightly perforated his lung.

“Mhehe, let me guess… * cough * You two hairballs … * oof! * … too hideous to be accepted into the Clan, so… * gah! * … needed magic to hide your ugly mugs?”

OOC: Action Point to use Inspiring Word!!!

[sblock=OOC]Shove Adie to the front line already!

Anything that can serve as a distraction! / flanking partner! / meat wall! / combatant?[/sblock]

OOC: Wow, everyone I know has been playing it as a minor, now I have to conclude you are correct Garyh - looks like it provokes to. Wow prone just got a lot nastier.
Hold on. I knew it was a move action but I don't see anything about it provoking?

[sblock=Prone and Standing Up]I'm not seeing anything anywhere about standing up provoking OA's (and haven't been playing it this way). Got a page number?[/sblock]

OOC: No I am happy to say I do not, I was going on it being a move action. I agree it does not. And there I was thinking that the Monotaur racial power might actually be useful...;)

"Go get those **********, Adie! You can do it!" screams Palindrome, "I empower you with the Invincible Aura of the Warrior Goddess! Nothing can stop you!"

[OOC: Palindrome casts Light on Adie. (Minor Action)]

A golden radiance forms a halo about Adie's head.

"Behold, the hand of Nike, Goddess of Victory, points the way!"

[OOC: Palindrome casts Mage Hand. (Minor Action)]

A spectral hand appears in H11. It stabs an accusing finger at the 'blurry thing' in G12.

[OOC: Palindrome bluffs Adie. (1d20+7=14) Shouldn't I get a +2 circumstance bonus for the special effects? Hmm? And, to be fair, she is rather stupid.]

"Kill, Adie! Kill! You ******* favored ****** child of the gods!"

*BLAM!*

[OOC: Palindrome casts Magic Missile at G12. Magic Missile. (1d20+5=20, 2d4+4=9)]

[sblock=Why didn't Palindrome push her?]At best, he'd get her 1 square with a successful Bull Rush. And he wouldn't get to attack the monsters.

If she doesn't get her rear in gear this round, I'll try speaking to her 'with the voice of Zeus' (i.e. Thunderwave). That will force her one scare and should scare the hell out of her.[/sblock]

OOC: Just a suggestion...

Maybe if Woe screamed something about how he loved Adie from the moment he saw her and knew that love would give her the power to save him...

You know, a little Diplomacy check to assist a Bluff...

Inspiring Word and Second Wind
Hey, Dunamin, wouldn't Woe have more HP now? He gets 7+1d6 from Inspiring Word. 7 from Second Wind. You've added 14 to his total, but not the 1d6.
