The Closed Eye (DM: Halford, Judge: garyh)

On the ground and reeling, Tander does his best to stay in the fight. I cannot fall, not now. He sends a blind wash of divine energy in the general direction of Woe and Atreus before renewing himself.

OOC: Take 5 necrotic. Divine Glow including orc, Woe, Atreus, includes -2 penalty for prone, misses. Nevertheless, Woe and Atreus get +2 power bonus to attacks until Tander's ent. Action point to use cure light wounds on self. I heal surge value +4(healer's lore) and +5 from effect or a total of 16 hp (full). Save vs dazed = FAIL, save vs necrotic = SUCCESS

Round 2, continued

Palindrome hurls fire and abuse at the pair of mages by the exit, lightly charring the reptilian woman. (5 damage to snake lady. Slowed expires, as well as attack penalty to Arnest)

Round 3

Tander writhes in pain on the floor, but manages to cure himself and grant divine favor to his comrades.

Whether due to Palindrome's taunts or some other motivation, Arnest does not retreat any further. His hands flash, and lightning flashes, filling the room with the smells of ozone and burnt flesh. (dancing lightning hits woe, atreus, and palindrome for 7, 6, and 5 respectively. Atreus is bloodied again, which is the 3rd time this fight. Is that a record?)

The gravehound leaps for Tander's throat, tearing a bloody gash perilously close to the great blood vessels. (crit, 9 damage and 5 ongoing necrotic (save ends))

The priestess hisses again, sending another burst of dazzling light against Woe, but the stalwart fighter shakes off the effect, blinking quickly. (miss by one)

"Is that all you got, ******?" shouts Palindrome, "You must be trying to hurt my feelings, because you ain't doing jack-****-squat to my body."

[sblock=Huzzah!]I know it sucks that the doggie bit Tander, but that's means Woe gets a free attack against it! Let's hope for a critical hit.[/sblock]

OOC: Pound the Hound, Woe! (He gets an immediate interrupt attack since the gravehound was marked, right?). Since Tander is still dazed , I guess the best thing for him to do will be healing word on Atreus when it is his turn....

Also, don't forget Woe and Atreus have +2 power bonus to attack rolls - we may need it.

Alas, the End of an Era!

Just as the gravehound crouches in preparation to pounce Tander, Woe is all over it with even swifter punishment.

“Bad doggie, I told you to stay! Now you can fetch this!”

His spear launches as if it was spring-loaded, but goes past its target by inches.

Combat Challenge attack likely misses (AC 12 with 7 damage).

[sblock=C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!]Nooo! So close to the 20-hits-in-a-row mark!

Ah well, I have a feeling Woe will still keep the record with his 17 consecutive hits ;). It was fun riding the streak of awesomeness while it lasted.[/sblock]

Atreus screams in pain when Arnest's lightning hits him and suddenly old memories come back.
[sblock=Pain]
A flash of memories, memories of Kalach and his training slips into Atreus' mind.

" You must remember to never to give in to the shadow, never succumb to their demands, no matter what pain they inflict upon you!"
" Yes sensei " Atreus looks down upon his tortured body and sees all of the wounds his master inflicted upon his body, but there is nothing he can do while tied to the chair. " Please stop... I don't know how much more I can take, sensei ". Furiously Kalach yelled " SILENCE! " and punched Atreus in the face " Pain is an illusion boy! You must not fear the pain but fear that the darkness can corrupt your soul forever. I will train you to be the best, and you will have the means to survive this war as I promised your father, so wipe your tears away and get ready for round two "
[/sblock]
" I... Will... Get you later for that Arnest, that's a promise ". Atreus fights off the pain and shifts to a better spot next to the orc while snatching one of his daggers from his belt.
" Woe... follow my lead " and he readies himself to strike the orc as soon as Woe moves into a better posistion.

Ohh really? What can I say, I always bounce up with a little help from my friends. Too bad it's not that fancy to brag about.

Woe grits his teeth against the magical assaults coming his way, but focuses on circling the orc to trap it with Atreus. With the sneak making his attack, Woe follows suit just a moment after.

“What’s that, piggy? You trying to Eyeball me? Let me fix that for you!”

Woe stabs into one of the orc’s kneecaps with a light but effective strike, compelling it to kneel before him. As it does so, he blows a raspberry at it.

“You’re next, missy!” Woe shouts to the snake lady.

“Don’t be shy, it only hurts in the beginning! After the first time I penetrate you, the rest will come easily!”

He gives her a wink and makes a few obscene stroking-gestures with his spear.

[sblock=Actions & Celebrations]Woe shifts to D4 to flank with Atreus, triggering the readied attack. He then attacks the orc with Steel Serpent Strike, hitting AC 22 for 6 damage, slowing it and preventing it from shifting until end of Woe’s next turn. He then uses his Minor Action to make unsubtle insinuations to the priestess.

I just noticed that this is now officially the biggest baddest thread in L4W history - we’ve even reached a 10000 Views milestone! Do we get an action point for that?

OOC: Aw, man!

Hey, wait! You got a +2 bonus. Don't forget that.

ooc: crap, I thought I had updated this thread. I must have lost the update in a browser crash at work. Unfortunately I blew all of my time tonight on character reviews, so it will have to wait until morning. Sorry!
