The Closed Eye (DM: Halford, Judge: garyh)

ooc: Sorry for the delay; my home internet access has been flaky this weekend.

Round 9, continued

Atreus continues to breathe.

Woe splatters bits of zombie dog across the wall. With an unearthly howl, the thing falls apart, as if it were a package bound with a single long string that has just been cut. Immediately Woe drops his dagger and pulls out a healing potion. (gravehound dies)

Arnest, seeing the dog no longer a threat, lowers his hands, allowing the magical energy to slip away. He looks at all the blood on the floor and turns more than slightly green. He drops to his knees next to the Tsasha, prodding her and trying to determine her condition.

[sblock=free action, heal DC 10 or insight DC 10, passive will do]Arnest's first aid skills owe more to wishful thinking than to skill or training.

Palindrome takes a deep breath and pops the kinks out of his back.

"Hey, *****, I've a got a little bit of ***** medical expertise. You want your ***** girlfriend to get better, then you better lay face-*****-down on the **** ground and lace your ***** fingers behind your head. Otherwise, she's going to develop some ***** complications."

He tosses the spear to Woe.

Round 9, continued

Palindrome threatens Arnest, and tosses Woe's spear towards him. It clatters to the ground at Woe's feet. (Woe doesn't have a hand free, so he can't catch the spear. We'll consider it to be on the ground in Woe's square)

Round 10

Tander suddenly collapses, finally succumbing to the gravehound's accursed bite. (saves vs. dying and ongoing damage, please)

Atreus suddenly awakes from his brush with death. Slowly, but surely he stands up with his whole body shacking in pain ignoring the others. He takes some time taking in the sight before him.
He grins at seeing Woe and Palindrome still are standing and makes a vague nod in respect. A flash of worry crosses his face as he sees Tander is down, bleeding, but then he notices Arnest and the snake lady, and his concern for his companion is gone. His eyes burn with hate and in that moment his body stops to quiver. He quickly grabs the hilt of the two remaining daggers in his belt, ready to strike Arnest from a distance if necessary. Spitting a huge blood clod, clearing his throat, he asks politely the others " What's going on! " while never taking his eyes of Arnest.

"What's up is that I'm about to blow off one of Snake Lady's ***** feet if ***** here doesn't drop and make like a proper ***** prisoner."

"DOWN ON THE FLOOR, :rant::rant::rant::rant::rant:!"

"Oh, and Woe, do you think you could stabilize Tander, but not restore him to consciousness...?"

[sblock=Hey, Covaithe...]Don't forget, my boy's HP is up because of Second Wind. Should be 18, now.[/sblock]

Arnest flinches from Palindrome. "Well, really. There's no need to be rude," he complains, but he does lie face-down a pace away from Tsasha.

Palindrome mutters, "You want rude, *****-*****. I'll ****** give you ****** rude. I will re-*****-de-******-fine ****** ****** rude for you."

He stomps over to Arnest and ties up the cultist, starting with hands, then elbows, then hog-tying his feet to his hands. He gags and blindfolds the wizard, tearing off strips of Arnest's clothing. He pulls out his hatchet and whacks Arnest upside the head (using the blunt end), giving him a nice concussion.

And proceeds to break Arnest's hands, elbows, kneecaps, and toes. (Again, using the blunt end of the hatchet.)

"I'd like to point out that I didn't cut anything off of him. We might want to return him to his grandmother, and I'm pretty sure if we dope him up and starve him for a few days, we can make him delirious enough to brainwash him into believing he was falling down drunk and run over by a carriage while lying in the gutters of the nice side of town."

As a piece de resistance, Palindrome takes out a bit of twine and very, very tightly binds Arnest's crushed pinkies together, cutting off the bloodflow and setting the stage for gangrene. If Arnest remains bound for a day or so, and no one bothers to cut off his fingers before untying him, the infection will release into his bloodstream, effectively killing him.

---

Palindrome is not so kind with the unconscious Snake Lady.

Whistling a jaunty tune, he binds her and removes several important pieces of anatomy: eyes (one of which goes in his pockets), thumbs, big toes, and hamstrings. Then, he scoops up some of the goo from the undead dog, stuffs it in her mouth, and gags her.

"Okay. You guys ready for the interrogation?"

"My suggestion is that we toss them in the corner, remove the gags, and let them 'share' for a while. You know, tearful goodbyes, 'I'll sacrifice myself for you', blah-blah-blah. Once they've stewed for a while, we can separate them and start asking questions. Nothing makes people as pliable as true love."

"When we're done, we toss them and elf-boygirl in the house upstairs, and burn the place to the ground. That should get rid of any evidence, and we can tell Arnest's grandma that we managed to find the boy--a victim of a horrible fire. All of which will be true, and thus protecting us from any lie-detecting magicks."
