The Coldlands War, Part I

Ursus looks down at the conductor. "We have been dispatched to deal with this wizard, and would be grateful for any other information you can supply," he says in his monotone voice.

"Humph." Says Tyliss, "I hardly think we need to blurt out what our intentions are to every Thom, Dych, and Hari." He looks up and down the train looking for any signs of damaging magic.

Ursus
"We have been dispatched to deal with this wizard, and would be grateful for any other information you can supply,"

The dwarf shakes his head. "I'm 'fraid I don't know any more'n that. All I know's that there was a rockslide, an' it shook up th' train mighty fierce!"

"If ye're ta be dealin' wit th' wizard, we'll be headin' out in a bit." He nods. "Jus' gotta get 'er looked at, an' we'll be on our way!"

Tyliss -
There are no signs of damage on the train caused by a magical source.

"A rockslide is a rockslide is a rockslide," Elkus mutters. "There is no such magic, and the wizard cannot be that powerful," the halfling says to reassure himself.

He turns to his companions, "Well are we ready for the ride?" He points to Train 2 which leaves at 8. "That should be the one we're going on."

Akamarr looks at the battered train disdainfully. "I am not going to...I...I don't trust this thing," he gets out, casting a gob of spit towards it. Ah well, he decides. If it stops we can always just walk it.

"You are going to have to ride the train, orc. We have all been ordered to dispose of the wizard," says Ursus, who is looking over the damaged train, "and your walking will only serve to divide the party. If this is going to be an issue in the future, discuss it with your superiors."

The dwarf heads back to the train, and is joined by a pair of gremlins. They examine the train, and the gremlins begin tinkering with the wheels. In what seems like a short time for such a large task, the wheels are re-aligned on the tracks.

"We're ready ta go." The dwarf says, coming back to your group. "Git onboard, an' we'll be on our way!" He heads to the engine on the far end of the train.

Elkus gets on board. "I want to sit next to the window!" he says, excitedly. He looks for a carriage that's completely empty to accomodate the rest of the party.

Finding an empty car is not difficult - there are few other passengers boarding the train as you find a car.

Inside, the traincars are relatively bare - plain booths made of unadorned wood, with tables of similar make. The windows are quite large, and give a clear enough view of the outside.
