D&D 5E The D&D Gourmet

Tonight I managed to score myself several stacks of premium cut beef on sale for an awesome discount.

It reminded me of a time when I played in a 3e campaign, during which my comrades and I fought many glorious battles together, most notably a red dragon.

After defeating the red dragon, we proceeded to sack its hoard, then butcher its body for useful parts.

We managed to get horns and hide and talons for magic item crafting, and an idea came to mind: we could salvage the meat.

We managed to bring back a large quantity of freshly killed red dragon meat to town and sold it on the open market.

Soon gourmets from all over were coming to have a taste of red dragon in the local restaurants before it ran out.

Carpaccio style and steak were popular choices for preparing the red dragon meat.

Yum.

Has anybody else had an interesting food experience or turned monsters into dinner during their adventure?

In a Dark Sun campaign my thri-kreen was munching on an elf chop (an elf's leg) as we went into a meeting with an elven tribe leader.

It was my first character in my first D&D game ever, maybe the second session of the campaign, and I had only the vaguest understanding of what an 8 Charisma actually meant.

It was an awesome moment.

IMC Dragonborn greatly enjoy the taste of human flesh, but don't eat it often. They see nothing morally wrong with eating the body of a human who died from unrelated causes, but they find the meat very rich and heavy in the gut, so they consider it unhealthy to have more than once in a while.
