The Dance of Souls

If there are multiple spiders left (combat able and awake) on his initiative, Banion will move next to Gur and ready an action to stab any spider coming in range. If there is only one, Banion will charge it and stab it immediately. If they are all put to sleep, he will move into position to perform a coup de grace.

Edit: Attack +3 (+5 on charge), Damage d4+1, crit 19-20 x2, penetrates DR as a magic weapon

Sam shoots a crossbow bolt at the wounded spider, but misses [attack roll 4]. Azaroth creates a magical bolt of force, hurling at the same spider, and unerringly the bolt smashes into it. Like the ones before, this spider drops into a twitching lump [4 damage].

With only one spider standing, Banion rushes towards it with his mindblade, piercing through the chitin, though the spider remains standing [2 damage]. Beamer shoots a crossbow bolt at the creatture, but since he must be careful not to hit Banion, misses by an inch or so [attack roll 13]. Gur's arrow, on the other hand hits almost as if the bow and spider were connected by a wire. While the creature is still standing, it is staggering now [critical threat not confirmed, 2 damage].

As the twitching of the first spider seems to become more controlled, the spider still remaining, apparently realizes that you don't make good prey, and starts scampering away (OOC - AoO opportunity for Banion - yes?).

Gur won't take another action against the spider. He will try to tell Banion, "Let it go. It's learned a lesson, and I'd rather it go tell the other spiders so they don't go off attacking travelers again."
