The Dance of Souls

(As far as rolls are concerned, unless I'm asking you to roll, I'll roll the dice for you, but the numbers are correct. Yout action sounds like you want ot delay/ready, which would reduce your Initiative count if the spiders emerge this round.)

Since Gur acts too late in the round to attempt the rushed animal empathy at a penalty, he will ready an action to fire his bow at the first spider to move closer.

(Okay, sorry for the confusion. Still learning. :D My intent with my action was one part catch-up pose (being warned by the others) and one part wanting to fire as soon as a spider is visible. If that's "ready/delay" then correct.)

OOC: Have we started actual init rounds yet or what?

Once we've posted enough of our intentions, the DM will start to post results. Most do about a full round at a time.

BTW - I'm assuming that the spiders revealed themselves before Banion had a chance to answer your question, but after you cast mage armor.

(Xaov - Pretty much what Patlin said. Patlin - Banion spotted the spider shortly after Beamer and Azaroth asked their questions. They're still in the bushes, though judging from their speed, they'll emerge this round.)

*turning to Hastur who is now on his shoulder*
Hastur you should get out of sight, I'd hate to lose you!

Azaroth prepares himself for the coming invaders

Banion figures they'll be scary fast (compared to his move of 20), which is why he's firing into the cover rather than attempting to ready an action. (I did understand I've got a lousy target, but I'd rather waste a rock than give up the initiative.)

Sam throws his spell at the place where he can hear the spiders, but it seems to have no effect.
<Not sure what action Azaroth wants to perform>
Jasper nervously takes a few steps away.
Banion lets a sling bullet fly, and it rustles through the bushes, followed by a satisfying *crack* as the bullet hits one of the spiders (2 damage). He then drops the sling, and his mindblade appears.

The spiders then emerge, one clearly wounded by Banions attack, the other three unhurt. Beamer, Gur and Rose Marie react by firing off their spell, bow and sling at the emerging creatures. The already wounded spider is hit by the acid splash (4 damage), and with a chunk of its body dissolved, drops into a twitching mess.
Gur's arrow pierces the front of another spider, dropping in the same way as the first, twitching. Rose Marie's sling bullet also hits, wounding another of the creatures (2 damage).
Sam 19
Azaroth 19
Jasper 14
Banion 13
Beamer 4
