I am unavalable This weekend, Monday afternoon, all of Tuesday, and Wed. morning. I won't have full internet access till about the 2nd of Jan.

Again,don't let me hold anything up. Feel free to NPC me. Sam will of course use his spells in combat, and try to stay out of harms way as much as possable.

With the group splitting up, Beamer draws out his crossbow and pulls a bolt from the quiver, ready to load and fire at the first sign of trouble. If the rest of the group is not back 2 hours before sunset, Beamer will cast Mage Armor on himself. Then, if the rest are still not back 1 hour before sunset, he will re-cast Mage Armor.

OOC: Before leaving, Beamer bought 10 more days trail rations. That puts him at 1/2 pound over weight, so I will assume that someone will help shoulder this great burden.

As Gur sets down the rations, the animals stop growling, and one slowly moves closer, sniffing. Always eyeing the group, the dog takes a small bite out of one ration, and then starts dragging it away, to the other two dogs. From behind the group, two more wild dogs emerge, but move in a far circle around the group. They seem to want to join with the three dogs that emerged earlier.

Banion avoids taking any hostile action, not wanting to mess up Gur's attempt.

"I wonder what the situation is, that would keep a normally healthy pack of dogs sickly. Well, lets try to be kind and get back on the road, I might come back this way after we collect our pay, but we need to get to work on tracking down these bandits."

G will borrow two more rations (offering them up again) and pay whoever offers them up 1 gold coin for each of them to be done with it (and whoever I borrowed the other two off of, I'm not really sure), then try to get back on the road and catch up with the rest of the group.ur

The five dogs eye you all carefully as you head away, and take bites at the rations left behind. Following Gur, you make it back to the road safely, the whole trip having taken about an hour.

The group reunited, you continue you way to Lathirn.

Banion will slowly and carefully sneak back to the road, trying to remain unnoticed (taking 10.)

Also, Rose Marie -- I asked earlier if Jasper could carry any additional provisions. Could you let me know? If so, I'll update my character sheet to include the additional expenses.

Gur, What do you make of that situation. Is it off weather for the pack? Or have there been issues with their prey?

"My gut instinct is that competition is getting fierce around here. Could be the season still, but it could really be anything for that matter. We did something kind, but even I've gotta admit that it's a druid's job to maintain the balance."
