The Dance of Souls

I had the impression that Banion would prefer not to be recognized as belonging to the group, and if anything, would try to follow you unseen.

This is exactly right, Banion prefers to follow unseen.

Banion:
[sblock]You follow the small group through the streets, avoiding attention from bystanders, though you have the impression that Tennar might have picked up that he's being followed... and also that another might follow the group, a half-orc in a wide cloak, but its hood on his shoulders. At the warehouse, you can see the half-orc entering a side street, casually watching the street. [Sense Motive] He doesn't seem to take an aggressive stance, it is more like he is waiting for something.[/sblock]

In the warehouse:
[sblock]Tennar laughs at the question "I thinks several are originals, but they are more curiosities than anything. Legends, prophecies that naver came true, that sort of thing. There are a few interesting fragments, but being fragments, they aren't very useful for their original purpose. A fair warning, further ahead the shelves will be a bit differently laid out, to make room for larger pieces. It makes it a bit mazelike, but no one was ever lost." Azaroth thinks the yawn did come from the portions Tennar just indicated.[/sblock]

(SlagMortar, you might have noticed, but the second sblock was meant for you, not Banion:heh: )

After hearing Banion's warning, Beamer is nervous about continuing too deeply into the warehouse knowing that there are guards posted at the entrance, and that Banion will be cut off outside.

Glancing at Azaroth behind Tannur's back, he sees that Azaroth is having the same thoughts. No risk, no reward. he thinks. Beamer continues on keeping Tannur in front of him. Beamer will look for an opportunity to cast Mage Armor unnoticed.

OOC: I had suspected the block might be for me, but hadn't read it until now.
Are the backs of the shelves open and if so, can we see anything through the shelves?

heh heh. Well I'd hate to be the first to become lost in your shelves. Though with the texts that you have in here I may lose myself within them to get a good read of their contents.
*turns around to beamer*

What about you Beamer? I mean I hope I am not alone in my thoughts of this place. Being surrounded by all these texts of ancient knowledge is a haven for art collectors and historians a like.

"Indeed this is quite a collection! I do so love old stories of mystery and intrigue. You know, the cloak and dagger sort of thing."

(The shelves have a closed back,so for the most part, it is not possible to see what's behind. And just to clarify, only the first two shelves have books, or scrolls.)

[Bluff] While pretending to look more closely at a text, which seems to be a song text in an old common, and propably translated from some other language, Beamer casts a mage armor on himself. As far as you can tell, Tennar did not notice your precaution.

"What kind of art object would you be most interested in? Statues, figurines, magic art, paintings...? I can easily lead you to the appropriate shelves."

Well I am most interested in paintings and figurines. Though I would love to see your collection of various magic pieces of art.
OOC: are there windows anywhere near by? though I am a bit uneasy by the method which I received the message this morning. I still would like to meet the person tonight.

Banion will hide nearby, looking for the trouble he expects to materialize and also listening for any sounds of violence coming from within the warehouse.

In the warehouse:

Yes, there are several small windows at the upper edge of the walls.

"I see, Master Azaroth, just straight through, four shelf rows ahead. That's where things should start to be interesting for you." Tennar says, maybe a little bit too loud. "Just follow me." The two of you can see a worried look on Tennar, as if he expects to be attacked any time.

The shelves you pass contain small jewelry (in several cases you can tell that there are many more cheap materials used than really expensive ones - you also think there are a few obvious fakes), then some rather common household items for two rows (though this is where shelves start to be less in a row, and more to make room for some large items), and then small statuettes and figurines. The shelves here are arranged in a square that opens in two directions, with a table in the center that seems to hold several well-crafted board games.

Banion:
[sblock][Spot]Outside the warehouse, you almost miss the arrival of another cloaked figure, this time with its hood conceiling its face. You only catch its presence when it stands next to the larger half-orc, holding something dark in its hand. The half-orc produces something similar from its cloak, and touches it to the other item. Something drops slowly, only to vanish almost immediately, and after a short nod, the two move further into the side street.[/sblock]
