The Dance of Souls

I would much appreciate the loan tennar. My group and I have some final preparations to make. Such as discussing who should go with me.

However before we adjorn I must ask you. What do you know of the Dance of Souls?

after Tennar says what he knows Azaroth will turn to beamer and whispers.

Hmm what do you suppose we should do about Banion?

After discussing With Beamer Azaroth will turn back to Tennar

Tennar I have a question for you that just occured to me. Have you ever heard of a rather rare text called the Ritual of Bonding? Supposedly its very rare, and I noticed you have all sorts of rare and unique pieces of art.

When Banion sees the others leaving, he will take the first opportunity to slip in amongst them, doing his best not to draw attention. In a very low voice:

"I'm not sre what happened inside that warehouse, but you should know that a large half orc in a cloak was following you as you went in there. Another cloaked figure met with him, and then they disapeared into an alley together. I'm still pretty sure something's afoot. Be alert, this could turn violent any moment."

While trying to look casual, Banion glances around to see if the group is still being followed.

"I don't know more about the Dance of Souls than most people. A collection of, as far as I heard, nine pieces, each using illusion magic in some way.

Ritual of Bonding?" Tennar frowns, straining to remember. "I'm not sure... if you could tell me a bit more, I might be able to help you."

In response Azaroth's question Beamer whispers, "I assume Banion will meet us outside. Keep him talking for a bit, and find out if he knows Turlach or Deleth."

Then out loud, he says, "A piece of art would be much appreciated. We'll make sure nothing happens to it. I'll go pick out a loaner piece, if that's ok Master Tenner." Beamer bows his tiny frame at the waist.

While looking for a suitable piece of art (not to bulky or breakable) Beamer will keep an eye out for any of the Dance of Souls pieces (painting, disk, harp). If he can tell which shelves contain the magic pieces, he will start his search there.

Tennar our employers told us the name of the two that stole from them, their names were Turlach and Deleth. Our employers failed to mention their last names but do these names sound familiar?
As for the Ritual of Bonding it is a text that is realtively hard to come by. However what it is, is a text that details a part of the ritual by which a curious group known as Acolytes of the Skin become Acolytes. In my pursuit of Demon related stories. I came across several mentions of this text, I hope to study it to further understand more about it and the Acolytes themselves.

Tennar nods to Beamer, apparently not minding him looking around.
"Yeah, of course I heard the names of the thieves. Actually, I heard they were in town some time after the theft, but then vanished, propably to some hideout."
Hearing about the nature of Azaroth's query, Tennar's frown deepens, and his hand wanders into the direction of the dagger again. "Even if I would gain access to something... like that, I wouldn't be able to keep it. The church of Taka often looks through my warehouse, and confiscates things somewhat randomly, including some 'secured' places. Can't trick them often. And if I were you, I'd stop such pursuits. Some gambles aren't worth the risk."

Beamer:
[sblock]As you look through the shelves, you think you see a movement in the corner of your eye, and as you look closer, you see a small, crude figurine of a soldier on a base. Studying it for a bit, you realize that it yawns regularly. As you try to touch it, your finger moves through the figurine, but the base is real. Moving it, the soldier does some repetive and strange motions that could be regarded as walking.[/sblock]

Banion:
[sblock]After quite some time, the two cloaked figures re-emerge, and the smaller one says, clearly speaking in a faked voice, "Remember to report your finds at the usual place". Then, the smaller figure leaves, and the half-orc resumes watching the building.[/sblock]

Beamer exclaims, "How quaint!" upon seeing the soldier figurine. He assumes he has found the magic art section and gives the remainder of the shelf a quick examination for pieces of the Dance of Souls. If he doesn't see any, he will pickout this illusionary figurine as their prize for the day. "Does this item look ok, Tennar?"

ooc: Guess I was overly optimistic thinking the others would emerge soon.

[sblock]Banion will keep an eye on the half orc as the half orc keeps an eye on the building.[/sblock]

Easy there Tennar, There's no need to act like that. My interest in the subject is purely scientific. I am not foolish enough to attempt something like that. From what I have heard the ritual alone can kill someone.

*turns to Beamer*

Is that really another piece of the Dance of Souls?

If so is it really wise to bring them something as rare and potentially powerful as a piece of the dance of souls?

Perhaps we should take a more mundane piece with us and leave this here in Tennar's hands?

Beamer holds up the piece indicated. It is a small figurine of a soldier, but the figurine is seen to yawn occasionally. Beamer passes his hand straight through the figure as if it weren't really there. "This little thing? Certainly not! Its just a minor illusory figurine. Mostly I was thinking that since only the base is real, it would be easy to carry and hard to break. It just caught my eye, that's all. We can take something different if you wish."

OOC: I do not think this piece is part of the Dance of Souls. Beamer didn't say anything that indicates the piece he picked out was the Dance of Souls, he just wanted to make sure that Tennar did not actually have a piece of the Dance of Souls that Beamer would recognize.
