The Dance of Souls

I think going down an alley to try and trick him would be good. If we could get some answers from him it might shed some more light on this.

OOC: this is just an idea I am proposing

If beamer and I head down one of these alleys we could pretend like we are discussing the piece as being part of the dance of souls. Then Banion you could stand back and observe our guest. then when/if he heads down there after us you come up behind him and we get some information from him.

The group casually enters a side alley, which does smell as if it has been used for this purpose a few times already, and waits. However, no one enters the alley behind them, even as you wait about half an hour.

Banion, pointing out that he can't be sure whether or not they are still observed or how closely, is willing to proceed with the stated plan as an experiment.

"We should make sure the reason for heading into the alley is obvious, otherwise it will draw suspicion."

After waiting 5-10 minutes, Beamer says, "Looks like either we're not being followed or they suspect we are laying a trap. Lets get back to the Scimitar and figure out what to do tonight."

OOC: Beamer would like to get back to the Scimitar before his mage armor wears off, if possible.

Its ashame that our ruse didn't work. It might have been nice to know a little bit more about our pursuers. But I would imagine that we could all use a nice hot meal before making our final plans. I could agree to going back to the scimitar now.

Here is what I suggest. I think we should continue with what we did for visiting Tennar. Beamer and I will go in to visit them. Banion you follow behind but don't make it apparent. Banion perhaps you should do what you can to get in without being seen. That way if this situation turns hairy you can be there to help.

What do you guys think?

OOC: on the off chance that any of the others show up. this suggestion will be modified to suit the returned players.

OOC: I wonder what happened to all the other people. Its a shame its pretty much only us 3 working this thing now.

Assuming nothing happens on the way back to the inn, Beamer gets a meal and sits down in a room upstair with Banion and Azaroth to figure out what to do about the note.

"If we are lucky, they think we are art dealers and will try to sell us something. It is more than likely though that this is a trap. What should we do to protect ourselves? If a fight breaks out, we may find ourselves overpowered." Beamer holds up his stick skinny arm for emphasis. "I have some ability to stick to the shadows. Perhaps Banion and I should hang back and shadow your movements Azaroth, since after all the note was left for you. I have a scroll that allows me to create a silent illusion. I could use it to drop a fog over the area if things go badly."

OOC: 2 sorcerers and a soul knife walk into a bar ... and wish they had brought a fighter. Any ideas?

OOC: Heh pretty funny Slagmortar.

Yes I agree this is more likely a trap than anything else. I suppose if Tennar was able to see thru our story, others will be able to as well. Having two people ready to attack is much better than just one. The silent image could make things easier for an escape or at least give me time to get back and cast my spells.

Do you two believe we should inform the city guard of whats happening? or should we keep this a private affair. Or another possibility is we could go to Tennar and ask to borrow some of his help. Any thoughts?
