The Dance of Souls

ooc: Ah same here. Well hopefully you'll get to do a bit more of the playing. You probably couldn't have come back at a better time. Heh 3 magic users going against a house full of potential baddies. Not a good sign.

"That sounds like as good a plan as any. If the meeting goes smoothly, Banion and I can try to follow the person you meet to see where he goes. Perhaps after this meeting, we will have enough information to talk to the city guards. They may know more something as well."

OOC: Beamer fills in Gur on what he missed. Basically, we met Tennar, an art dealer, and he showed us his collection. He loaned us a small piece so it would look like we were buying. He also related that the had been attacked by a group known as the Talon because they thought Tennar possessed or could get a part of the Dance of Souls. He also mentioned hearing that theives we are chasing had been in town, but had left probably to a hide out somewhere.

Azaroth received a note last night wanting him to meet someone at the Broken Skull at midnight tonight. We suspect this person is connected to the Talon, and that it is a trap, but do not know for sure. Right now we are planning how to go to the meeting.

(I take this is the whole plan then?)

In the evening, Gur and Azaroth leave for the Broken Skull. As they get to it, it is pretty apparent that it is a run-down, shabby establishment, propably in constant threat of being closed. The furniture looks like it is about to break, and the floor could use quite some cleaning. A table in a corner sounds as if it will break any second under the pressure of the ongoing arm wrestling contest, and another table looks dangerously weak under the four drinks standing on it, and the lone person - a half-orc - sitting at the table does not seem to intend drinking any of them anytime soon.

OOC: Sorry I've been busy this week. since it is finals week. So I haven't been able to check this out and respond as much. But today is the last day of finals. So yeah

Banion will remain hidden, first checking to see if he has a counterpart -- anyone positioned outside the inn to observe from the shadows. Only once he is satisfied that no such precautions have been taken will he try to get in position to see what is going on inside. If he can see the half orc, he will try to decide if it is the same person he saw before.

Just for the record, a soulknife isn't a magic user. Closer to a rogue or a monk, but I suspect less effective. My only significant ability at this point is that I can materialize a short sword of mental energy.

Beamer moves as stealthily as possible following Banion's lead. When Banion pauses to look for others observing the inn, Beamer will stay completely out of sight and wait for Banion to let him know its all clear. (i.e. if Banion is looking around a corner, Beamer will stay back and not try to see around the corner, or if Banion is peaking over a fence, Beamer will duck completely behind the fence.

OOC: Hide +8, Move Silently +6

Walking in to the inn. He stands in the center of the pub. Walks up to the barkeep and says.

hi I am looking for a drink. and sits down at an empty table. He then places the piece on the table in front of him. Then he will observe his surroundings to see if anyone is paying close attention to him.
