The Dance of Souls

"Agreed, they try to force their way through and we shall fight them to the best of our ability."

Time passes, and slowly, you get the feeling that the search team might not return today. There is still some light left in this day, though, and the search time may use that to travel further... if it is indeed coming.

OOC: I'm unclear on what we took from the Talon members we ambushed. I believe at minimum we took their weapons and armor as well as 2 unmarked potions and the spell book. If we have some of their robes, that would be even better.

"If they do not come tonight, should we attempt to gain entry to the keep? Any ideas how to do that?
"Remember what Cado said about tying up everyone who is not on watch? That will certainly make our job easier if we can gain entry to the keep. Perhaps one of you, Azaroth or Gur, could disguise yourself in the armor and Talon ornament we got from the other Talon group."

"That is a good idea, however I don't think the armor they were wearing was their uniform." "If we could think of some distraction to gain their attention that would work as well."

"But What could we use?"

(At the least, here's what they had:
You find a talon-shaped object with each of the 6. Besides, there are two more magical potions, on on the cleric, and one on the elf. The elf also has a book with what appears to be arcane writing.
On mundane equipment, the ambushed group has a masterwork banded mail, a mw quarterstaff (Cado), a normal quarterstaff (the elf), a leather armor, a longspear (second human female), mw padded armor and a mw longspear (the priest), a halberd (the driver), and a scythe and a leather armor (the scythebearer). The wagon contains a number of rations and ropes, as well as the kind of robes you have seen on the Ashen Talon agents (suspected and confirmed ones). Gathering the valuables, a quick count indicates about 400 gp.)

ooc: I Would've hoped we would've taken everything. or at least as much as we could. Perhaps we could find use for those robes.

OOC: As long as its ok with Knight Otu, I'll assume we took at least one robe as well. We have extra horses from the wagon so packing shouldn't be much of an issue.

IC: "Well, we have the robes as well, and the Talon trinkets. Perhaps one of you could run toward the gate wearing the robes, yelling that you were attacked. I could use a spell to make the sound of around 8 men shouting in chase. I'm not sure how effective the spell would be though. They might not hear it inside the keep. Any other ideas that would make them open the gate?"

"I cannot think of any plan at the moment. It would be possible for at least one of our people to go under the guise of being part of the talon. If need be I will volunteer to go under cover."

"I was still hoping to go after the other group first, but if you feel that is a bad use of our time, then I have no objection to changing targets."

Looking through the loot, Banion checks to see if any of the robes would fit a small creature. ooc: I think all of our adversaries have been size medium, and we have to halflings in the party.

"I have some doubts as to whether disguise will work. If they had as many men as would normally guard a keep this size, the magic of the place would have resulted in a bloodbath long since, from all we have learned so far. The keep is likely very undermanned, and we've now circled to the far side of it. Perhaps I can find us a quiet place for us to climb over a wall?"
