Well, tonight I conducted a little test to see just how a CR18 Steel Dragon would do against four 18th level PCs. I had two friends create a party of four 18th level characters and then I had them duke it out with the dragon.

The party won. I don't have the time at the moment, but I will post some details later.

Mirror of opposition -- very nasty.

Hopefully the reason that they won wasnt because of the mirror.

'tonight I tested the steel dragon (cr 18) vs a first level party which happened to have a mirror of opposition somehow. The dragon missed the one with the mirror with his breath weapon, saw his reflection, and then died to his reflection. So I guess I would put the steel dragon at around CR 5 or 6 instead'



Or, with blindsight and a spellcraft out of this world, the dragon simply knew what it was and didnt look at it. Or found a way to turn it around and make a pc see into it. Not an incredible way to find balance, much like a vorpal sword, which is also incredibly unbalanced.

Sorry for the rambling, just hopeing that the mirror wasnt the 'reason' that they won.
