The Deadliest Swordsman

Are we building the bnest swordsman under any conditions or specific ones?

Either/or. If anyone wants to qualify their pick with "in this situation this guy is the best..." feel free, I'm curious who the best swordsman is against any given foe on any given day in any given situation and also who the best guy is on the best day of his life.

I'm definitely surprised no one has jumped on the Weapon Master bandwagon. I haven't looked at the class in a while but figured it would be a shoe-in.

Okay, for consistancy the Duelist wins out. It gets +3d6 on all attacks. This does not limit it's chances to hit like the Power Attack abilities of the Frenzied Beserker. It does not have a limited use like the frenzies and rages. It is not limited to certain circumstances like the iajutsu focus.

i bow in the presence of nearly 7500 posts

however, the bonus damage doesn't work on things that are immune to criticals.

i still say Iaijutsu master. imagine: maxed out iaijutsu focus, cha of 14, catch your opponent flat footed, roll an average (10) iaijustu focus roll = +6d6+12 damage. OUCH!

My vote is a weapons master with a keen vorpal bladed gauntlet, and the Improved Critical (Bladed Gauntlet) feat. That means, um, roll a natural 7-20 (yes, that's a 7, not a 17), and your opponent's head falls off. Combine that with ambidexterity, 2-weapon fighting, improved 2 weapon fighting, and a really good BAB, and you have 6 chances to cut their head off each round. Heh heh heh.

You do know those were errated to crit range 19-20/x2, right?

Remember! This is Best situation.

That means, Crits every shot, gets oponent is surprised, has full equipment, full HPs, rested, and their enemy didn't have much for breakfast.

;)

WEll, then you have a frenzied beserker raging and frenzing to boost his strength to about 40 (+20 damage), throws everything into power attack for +40 damage (total +60 damage), let's make it a great sword for 2d6 damage, take a feat that makes two handed weaons do times 2 strength damage. That gives us 2d6+80. A crit is 4d6+160 and I haven't even factored in magic weapons and items (excpet for the strength, the 40 is a guess).
