Thank you for replying to Plane Sailing's point, but I'm sorry to say that you are categorically wrong. The price in the UK has skyrocketed from £3.50 (about US $5.30) for issue 298 to £4.99 (roughly US $7.59) each for issues 299 and 300.

I present the following pages from Leisure Games's site as evidence:

The price of Dragon 298 and the price of Dragon 299 and 300.

I also present as evidence the big hole in my pocket. I am gutted that, once again, British gamers have been hard done by the gaming industry in the US.

I remember when Dragon switched from being an outrageously expensive magazine to reasonably priced some time in the 100's. Before then, I hardly ever bought it. After the price came down, I hardly ever missed it. I may have to stop buying it again even though I really enjoy it. It's just too expensive now.

I bought #299 last week for £3.50 (here in Belfast). So there is no price increase as far as I know.

Of course I don't expect to see #300 for at least another month.

It hasnt gone up. Not here in the US. Issues going back to at least #290 (which I have in front of me at the moment) are priced at $5.99. That is exactly the same cover price for #299 and #300.

{sarcasm}That's OK then. Instead of going to a local store to get issue 301, I'll get on a plane to the US. Why didn't I think of that?{/sarcasm}

If Leisure Games has different prices, then they are jacking it up. WotC/Paizo hasn't changed it at all. For example, at DragonTrove (http://www.dragontrove.com/dragons.html) all issues are $5.99.

It's not Leisure Games's fault. As Plane Sailing has pointed out above, Orcs Nest are charging £4.99 ($7.59) as well.

Hello Krusty! ;)

I thought I might have said something wrong at GenCon and was getting the cold shoulder. :(

I suspect that 300 will be £4.99 for you as well. If not, I'll order Dragon from Belfast in future! I doubt the P&P would be £1.50. :p

Cool. Avoid connector flights to the Middle East. And lemme know when ya arrive then. We can have lunch. :)

True enough. It seems to be just outside the US apparently as the price here has stayed the same. No idea why.

I got #299 for £3.50 in Birkenhead from my usual newsagent.

Looks like its Leisure Games that are making an extra profit of you mate.

Damn, I want a newsagent. How did you get one of those Bagpuss.

Well you walk into your "local newsagent's shop" (do not be fooled this is not a shop that sells newsagents, but a shop owned by one) and speak to the man or woman behind the counter and say. "Could I order Dungeon and Dragon please?" That person then becomes your newsagent, and each month provides a copy of Dragon about a month behind the issue coming out in the US.

Unfortunately you do have to share them with everyone else that comes in the newsagent's shop.

I thought most people had one of these already.

Er..nope..that sounds like a uniquely British sort of thing. We don't have local anythings. :P

You don't have "Local Shops for Local People" what do you do when you run out of milk?

Do you have to wait until the milkman delivers your usual pint the next day?

We couldn't cope without a nice cup of tea for that long so we have local shops for local people.
