So here's an idea for a psionic class...
It's called The Dreamer. It's a class with a strong focus on summoning powers with a twist; you have to go to sleep to summon.
Your most important feature:
Lucid Dreaming
You can take actions while unconscious, but only to sustain or dispel effects, or to give special commands to summoned creatures.
...a couple of examples of powers...
Ghoul Guardian Dreamer Attack
"You call forth a vile subconscious beast from a place where the dream plane and the Underdark intersect."
Daily. Psionic, Necrotic, Psychic, Summoning
Standard-Action
Effect: You fall unconscious and summon a ghoul. You regain unconscious when the ghoul leaves. The ghoul is a medium shadow humanoid with speed 6, resist 5 necrotic, and vulnerable 5 radiant. While unconscious, you can give the following commands to the ghoul:
Standard Action. Melee 1. Constitution vs. AC; 2d6 + Constitution modifier necrotic damage, and the target is marked by the ghoul (save ends).
Immediate Interrupt. Trigger: a creature marked by the ghoul makes an attack that includes you as the target. Ranged 10. Charisma vs. AC; 1d6 + Charisma modifier psychic damage, and the target can't make coup de grace attacks until the end of its next turn.
Sleep Walk- Dreamer Utility
Encounter.
Move Action
Special: You can use this power while unconscious.
Effect: Move up to your speed.
Does this work rules-wise?
Would the class be too underpowered?
