the Dungeon Menu?

In game role playing wise it kinda depends on the game. Almost never does food come into center focus and then it might for a special occasion like attending a party thrown by the nobles or maybe because the party is in the desert and has limited access, usually as low level characters, to food and water.

In one group we do things like this, we eat before hand or bring food, eat it at the game table beforehand or during and then start playing.

In another group we sometimes get fed by the hostess and sometimes we order out. And usually somebody brings some sort of snack, sometimes more stuff and sometimes less.

...their PLAYERS OTOH...
would probably die another way...

well this is the same question, what does you're group eat?

Do you all bring you're own food?
Do you all do a pot-luck type thing?
Do you all pitch in money for snacks?

So what would do you do for food during sessions?

Standard policy is that if people want to have snacks/drinks, they bring their own. It is appreciated if people bring stuff to share, but this is not required (and nor do we track who brings what or when).

Also...do you enforce rules of eating for the characters?

Not at present. Tracking rations is only interesting if there's a possibility that the party will run out, which in turn requires tracking encumbrance. Since the encumbrance RAW are rubbish (in almost every RPG, including all published editions of D&D and PF), we don't bother. One of these days, I hope to get a much more sensible system in place, and then we will track rations, and ammo, and many other things we've just let slide.

A number of groups I have played with over the years ordered pizza every week. The current group generaly buys snacks individually from the racks at the FLGS where we game (Games Plus).

I tend to ask these questions often, such as "does you're group do X?"

I could ask a question on a poll and get numbers, but hearing you talk about your answer is much more useful, as I am workin on starting a weekly RPG group, using this as a sort of "if we decide to do this..." thread.

For PCs, it depends on the game amend campaign- pretty much, if food would otherwise be plentiful, I assume your PCs are doing fine. In a desert or some such, we may be doing some tracking.

As for the REAL people, it depends. Most odd the time, everyone takes care of themselves. Occasionally, though, the host may provide something. When I host, you're treated as if you lived here: raid the pantry or the fridge- you know where the plates are- and the bar is open. Just don't finish something off without asking.

Heck, one time, some guys showed up early, which was fortunate since I had to run an unexpected emergency errand. By the time I got back, they had started to bake a cake.

It depends. We definitely have it even out in the end, but there are sessions where one person or another doesn't have anything to contribute that time. Usually pretty much everyone brings food, drink, smoke or some combination of the above.
