The Duskblade: Redundant?

I like the idea of a fighter/mage base class with spells at first level. However, I dislike the execution of the class and prefer Mike Mearl's Myrmidon from AEG's Mercenearies. IMO, some of the duskblades abilities should have been feats and the class should have provided the player more choice in customizing the character via bonus feats, but at a rate slower than either the fighter or wizard classes.

Can anybody point me to the rule that adds 0-level Sor/Wiz spells and spells like shocking grasp to their class spell list? The class features section says they choose their spells from the duskblade spell list on page 98, which lists exactly six 1st-level spells (none of which are from the PHB) and no 0-level spells. Yet the "Advancement" section suggests that you choose spells such as shocking grasp, swift expeditious retreat, true strike, and magic weapon.

I must be blind. Where is it stated that any of those spells are on the duskblade spell list?

The page reference is a misprint. The list on page 98 is just the list of new PHBII spells that are on the Duskblade spell list - their complete spell list is on page 24.
