The Ebon Mirror: Dark Marks (Dunamin judging)

ooc: is Kama'zer taking ongoing damange? I just realized that I may have healed the wrong party member. I chose Riar'lon cause he's been down longer, but Kama'zer is only 2hp from dead.

OOC: Well I ran a trail for a encounter I am planning for you guys in the future. Poor Ts'iri! It seems like she is just an unlucky character, it could have been you rolling elec!;) The girl who was running her must have hit twice out of at least twenty rounds.

Voda waiting on your actions for this round.
The thing is she kicked ass during the skill challenge. The LOWEST roll there was a 12, which is only 1 lower than my high combat roll of a 13. I just don't get it. :hmm:

Also I had 9 temp HP from my Vampiric Embrace. You have my current HP at 'Ts'iri - 16/30' so did the spitting drake do 23 damage (14+9) or was it 14 and you missed my temp hp?

OCC: I think I'm next.

Ts'iri was getting very, very tired of these lizards. The acid searing her flesh only stoked her anger. "Eat this!" Ts'iri's blast strikes the spitter square in the face, bringing a smile to her face.
[sblock=OOC]Eldritch Blast(plus curse) on spitting drake. (1d20+5=25, 1d10+1d6+4=14)
Standard action:Eldritch Blast (crit! 20 points of damage!!! I just had to complain enough! :p
Move action: moves 3 squares straight up [gains concealment]

[sblock=stat line]
HP: 16/30[or 25/30]; Surges 6/10; AC 16, Fort 14, Refl 15, Will 14;

Second Wind: 1/1
Vampiric Embrace: 0/1
Scorching Burst: 0/1
Telekinetic Leap: 0/1
Armor of Agathys: 0/1[/sblock][/sblock]

With anguished cries the Drakes race away at full tilt both disappearing into the trees. The party has won a bloody and hard fought victory!

Tyrion stands looking around at the parties gashes and burns in mute horror shaking his head,

"I suppose we had better make camp, Kama'zer should not be moved."

OOC: 137XP each, I think I missed Ts'iri's temp hp. Kama'zer is not taking ongoing damage and is now stable - she is just out of healing surges and needs to rest overnight.

Kama'zer regains consciousness briefly a few hours after the battle. She turns her head painfully to look around enough to make sure that everyone is still above ground. Satisfied that they won the battle, yet still unhappy that she fell to those beasts, the Gith woman sighs heavily before settling back into the healing darkness of sleep. When her eyes open next, she is pleased to see that it is just in time for her last shift of the nights watch. Rising stiffly, she belts on her scimitar and reports for duty. She spends her time cleaning her blade while watching and listening for any disturbances.

Mri'Thas is awake at Kama'zer shift. "You should keep resting my friend, those reptiles hurt you badly. I'll take charge of your shift. Rest." He says, from his seat on a log, in lotus position.

Callen does not sleep well that night, the strange location and the memory of two of his companions falling in battle does not sit well with the old man. His body exhausted from the exertion and his joints aching, the hard packed ground leaves him sore in the morning. He is however pragmatic and in the morning goes about preparing some food for all his sleeping companions towards the end of Kam'zer or Mri'Thas' watch.

The night passes uneventfully and as the first rays of dawn lap across the parties faces Tyrion rises and stares to the north.

"Langton is not far from here, there we can take a boat to Fullerton and be upon the Branders within the day. I just hope there is a ship ready to take us." The Eladrin glances anxiously to the north continually as the group eat a breakfast of trail rations.

The group then head out and after three hours of walking enter the village of Langton, a tiny rural place with a single large stone mill with a waterwheel looming over perhaps ten dozen squat thatched cottages. There is one barge docked by the side of the largest of these cottages, and beside this cottage is a large vine covered wooden awning under which are a dozen tables. A sign over the awning dubs the establishment the Golden Grape.

Sitting in the dappled light under the awning is a stout man who is rubbing his temples and groaning fervently. He is swarthy with thick stubble and wears a dark blue bandanna with a cockerel embroidered upon it in silver thread. Before him is a platter laden with bacon and fried eggs which he occasionally pushes around the plate.

Other than this diner the rest of the townfolk ared dressed in simple working clothes and are obviously extremely poor.

She'd seen swarthy men and normal buildings before so they didn't her interest in the least.Ts'iri completely ignores the diner, instead going to take a look at the waterwheel. She'd never seen anything like it before. She could guess that it turned from the current of the water pushing against it. She wondered what purpose it had though. She looks for an entrance and/or someone standing near it so she can explore andor ask questions.

Ts'iri is easily able to see that the mill has no door and can see the millstone turning inside. A pair of scrawny men are sitting inside playing with a deck of dog eared cards, an elderly dog lies at their feet.

Tyrion approaches and speaks with the man sitting outside the Golden Grape. After a few minutes of animated conversation the Eladrin returns to the group.

"He is the boats Captain, but he refuses to take us for three days, apparently he is waiting for someone here. Perhaps you can persuade him, my pleas have fallen upon deaf ears, but then I was never a skilled diplomat - that was to be Ashara's task. If he refuses it will be another day, perhaps two before we reach Ashara..."

OOC: If the group decides to try to persuade the Captain to take them they will face a skill challenge. Otherwise they can gut across the hilly terrain between Langton and Fullerton.

Hitching a lift-

The party is trying to persuade the Captain to carry them earlier than he had intended. They know that he is apparently waiting for someone who is to arrive in three days and little else.

Primary skills: Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate (use these as often as you want). Bribery, or clever ideas will provide bonuses to rolls which are variable, such bonuses are at the DMs perogative.
Secondary Skills: Insight, Nature, Perception, and Streetwise (use each of these only once)
Other skills: You can try to use any other skill you can think of a good reason for. Explain how you are trying to use that skill to get info out of the man and make a skill check (at a higher DC than the other skills). If I agree that using that skill may work for that, I'll let you do it for better or for worse.
Initiative: I am going to allow you to post in an order of your choosing - so you set your own initiative essentially. Only those who participate will gain experience for this challenge - I am not going to NPC for this negotiation in other words.
