The Ennies are working!

Eh. I've heard of all of the things on the Ennie list, and actually own the only ones (IMHO) worth owning (which would be about 4 things - Valus, Capes, OQL, and I think I'm forgetting one)
Seeing as how you gave Dawning Star: Operation Quick Launch a glowing review, I must assume that would be the one you're forgetting.

I think that's what he meant by "OQL", Justin. :)

Anyhow, personally, I'm just glad that hard-working people who are truly dedicated to the products they produce are getting recognized. Justin with Dawning Star: Operation Quick Launch (Best d20 Game) , Ben with Slavelords of Cydonia (Best Adventure), and Tony with Capes (Best Game and Best Rules). All members of Indie Press Revolution (IPR).

I'm also happy to see quality publishers like Necromancer Games, Expeditious Retreat Press, and others get nominated, too. I'm also looking forward to checking out stuff from publishers I haven't heard of before. The ENnies provide a great shopping list for me every year. Thank you, judges!

I know I was ecstatic when my World of Whitethorn 1B: The Village of Oester was nominated last year for an ENnie as Best Adventure, so I can imagine all the nominees are just glowing right now! Congrats to all! :D

Feh on the defeatist attitudes! I say "Feh!" It's a bold new age of populist communication, in which grass-roots activism has a perfectly fair shot against (also effective) mass-marketing.

It's an honor to be nominated, yes. But what the nomination has mainly done for me is that I'm in the running, and I fully intend Capes to win one (if not both) of the categories it's nominated in.

Plus, sales spike. Sales spikes are nice. But victory is better.

Thanks for the high praise, Turjan, trancejeremy, and BiggusGeekus (you should post a link to this thread over in Destan's Story Hour---he and his readers would get a chuckle from it, and he could use one this week).

As stated by other publishers, we're ecstatic to have been nominated, and certainly hope to win something. I haven't seen a sales spike for Valus yet, but I also haven't been able to synch up with Tadashi Ehara---Different Worlds' president and publisher---since the announcements, since he's travelling in Asia at present....
