The ENWorld Shotgun Ragtime Band

I used to design light shows on the cheap for bands I worked with. Amazing what ya can do with coffee cans, high-watt bulbs, electrical tape, and the head light switches for old cars.

I'll make sure everyone is seen.

I used to play a mean Baritone horn. Bet you never heard Sabbath's Iron Man played on a big brass instrument before, did you?

We did this in High School Marching band...great base line, lots of fun for us Tuba players.

Things are shaping up so we need to decide on material... so here's something easy to play to start with. Should be a crowd pleaser...

Sympathy for the DM

Please allow me to introduce myself;
I’ve got books on class and race.
I’ve been around since the first edition
When Erol Otus made his name.
And I was ’round when TSR
Had its moment of doubt and pain.
Made damn sure that WOTC
Washed their hands and bought the game,

Pleased to meet you,
Hope I’m not too mean.
But what’s puzzling you,
Is what’s behind my screen?

I stuck around in Tilverton
When I saw it was a time for a change.
Killed poor Blackleaf and her player,
Jack Chick, he screamed in vain.
I ate and drank,
Smelled a little rank,
When mass combat raged
And the mini’s tanked,

Pleased to meet you,
Hope I’m not too mean.
But what’s puzzling you,
Is what’s behind my screen?

Trumbet, French Horn, Baritone, Trombone, and Tuba. Tuba is my strongest and I cover ed a lot of Jazz and symphonies plus the mandatory marches. Ah, those were good times, wish I was still in a band.

I would imagine that there is a local community band in your area. Check around, I'm sure they would love a good tuba player.

Well, the only instrument I own is the Trombone, my grandfather's from 1936. I'm not that good at it though. I'm also a lot out of practice.

Excuses, excuses. Band stores don't just rent instruments to high school students. You could rent a tuba, practice on it, and then find the community band. A community band typically has all levels of musicians. I played in a band with members that hadn't picked up their instruments in as many years as you and I have been alive, and they did ok.

Iused to play the drums really well, back in high school. I used to play the trumpet as well, now I'm not sure you bronx cheer or shout into it. I do still play the flute, the piano and the triangle! Amazingly I play the triangle better than the other two.
