Rodimus lets out an angry hrmph and starts going through his backpack. Coming up with hempen rope, he ties it to a tree. "Go again," the half-orc then says to Ishmael.

Could I get an out of character explanation of what you intend... I'm not sure I understand.

OoC: To try and see if he comes back to the exact same spot he left from. Not to mention that if he keeps the line taut, he should have a pretty good image of whether or not he is going straight.

Edit - Now that I think about it, though, I realise that 50ft isn't nearly enough, most likely

Rodimus, holding the rope tight, moves off into the woods. Reaching the end of his tether, nothing unusual seems to have happend.

Nars pulls off his back pack and begins searching through. He mumbles, "Story 'bout some dwarven lads, ah, Hasnar and Grentin, lost in the woods. Left a trail of pebbles to find their way home." He is looking for anything that they might be able to use to mark their trail. "Drat." He does not find anything suitable. He starts looking for fallen sticks. If there are some, he will gather an arm load and then suggest to start following the trail of drag marks. Every 10 yards or so, he will make an X marker with two sticks, always keeping the previous 2 X's in sight so that they can be moving in the same direction.

OOC: Did Nars and Gorefoot loose Percy's trail and then stumble back to the same spot, or did they think they were following the trail the entire time?

"It is plain that there is a spell upon these woods, an enchantment that makes strangers lose their sense of direction"

He watches and waits for the others to try out their plans, hoping that their attempts yield some way out of these woods and toward the princess.

Gorefoot stands impatiently waiting for Nars to dig through his pack. I wonder if these trees burn? he thinks to himself. Before he has time to finish that thought, Ishmael speaks. Magic, he thinks, I don't know how to fight magic. I wish Persephone was here.

Gorefoot moves over to stand beside Ishmael while Nars and Rodimus prepare their solutions.

The trail is partially guesswork, but you think you are still on it...

Proceeding as a group, you begin to follow the trail, leaving crossed sticks in your wake. You haven't gone far when you notice a pair in front of you. Looking around in frustration, you see more off to your left and right. In fact, you can see a dozen different sets of sticks from where you stand, and you know for a fact you've only put down three pair!
