I think Michael Ironsides played a villain, who had his arm cut off, then replaced with an alien arm. The other aliens then used some sort of powers to make his alien arm try and kill himself.
John Saxon. Ironside was the villain in Spacehunter: Adventures In The Forbidden Zone.
And I have both on tape.

For category #5, I say it's the "pie tin lit on fire" spaceship from Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Now, I don't know if Ed Wood used an actual pie tin, but it really looks like two pie tins or paper plates attached to each other(remember making a "tambourine" like this in first grade or so?), doused in gasoline, lit on fire, and tossed (literally!) in front of the camera.
That's just an urban legend. A magazine interviewed the guy who actually did the "effects" work on that film. The real story is that Wood went into a toy store and bought a bunch of UFO models and used them.
Getting back on topic:
1.) What's the BEST spaceship design you've seen in any Sci-Fi offering?
Tough one. Part of me wants to go with Earth VS The Flying Saucers. Simple and classic rotating UFOs done in stop motion by Harryhausen.
I'll have to give this one more thought...
2.) ...the Coolest?
A toss up between ST: NG's Romulan Bird Of Prey and Klingon Warbird.
3.) ...the Most Unique or Original?
Robotech. The classic Macross 3 form fighters. I don't remember what they're called anymore, but they were great. And what kid didn't want to fly one of those?
4.) ...the Most Realistic?
The rotating Earth ships from B5.
5.) ...the Lamest?
Space Mutiny. Did you catch it on MST3K? One of their best shows, imo. So, what makes the ship in this movie so lame? It was just stock footage of Battlestar Galactica...played in reverse. Yep, the Galatica flying backwards. Can't get any lamer that that.
