The Freak Show: Weird Monster Characters

First Post
This thread is meant for the sole purpose of entertaining you, o' great EnWorld board member! I will be posting monster characters (generally Monster Manual creatures with character levels) with ways you can use it in your campaign! And if you find the creatures that I'm giving out too absurd, worry not, because you can post your own devious little creations in this very same thread! How 'bout that? :D

Without further ado, I bring you "Pooch", a blink dog ranger who loves to kick some displacer beast tail!

When "Pooch" was born to a litter of blink dogs, he was in no way different from the other puppies. Later on his packmates found out that he was stronger and more resilient than most young blink dogs, and he was accepted to hunt among the adults already at a young age. During one of these hunts the pack stumbled upon a cave that was inhabited by a family of displacer beasts. A bloody battle ensued, which the blink dogs won quite easily. As the others were leaving the scene, the young blink dog couldn't help noticing a pile of bones in the corner. Some of them were humanoid, some animals, and at least one was, apparently, a blink dog. Filled with anger, the blink dog started smashing at the bones, finding a set of bracers under the pile. He took them with him, thinking that they might prove useful.

Thereafter "Pooch" has been studying the manners of displacer beasts. He knows how they hunt, how they mate and where they prefer to live. This knowledge has also given the blink dog an edge in fights against them. Now he has also learnt that while he is wearing the bracers his enemies find it harder to bite him, and that's always an advantage. The blink dog has gained a reputation among local people, who have given him the nickname "Pooch" to show their affection to him. Many times already has the blink dog saved the local farmers from attacks by displacer beasts. "Pooch" is currently the alpha male of his own pack, and he is glad to lead his loyal packmates into battle with the hated displacer beasts.

How To Use "Pooch" In Your Campaign: Your players might arrive to a displacer beast infested area. According to the locals, the number of displacer beasts has been on the rise for quite a while. When they ask the PCs to help them, they also refer to the blink dog named "Pooch" who might be a potential, and strong, ally to the PCs.

That's it for the first part, tune in next time as we bring you even more monstrous madness! :D

Sweet! How about a classed displacer beast foe to fight against Pooch? I think I may have to make 3E stats for "Honest" Joe, a gnoll used horse salesman, and post it on this thread.

That's not such a bad idea, but as I'm just back from a trip and really tired, you might have to wait for the next creature. Feel free to post your own creature! And everyone else, I'd like to get some feedback on this thread! :D
