We can do that monogramming, no problem. I just worked out a deal with the monogrammer to get those done a little cheaper than normal (since we're predicting most folks will order more than one cover.) Since these are JUST letters, I don't forsee any problems with copyrights, etc. Any thoughts to the contrary?

Not from me! ;)

Look for my assistant, Smithers, to send you an email. What days would you be in Indy and need a room?

OK, one thing about book covers--will they come in different sizes for different thickness books? I say that, because most of the book covers I have used in the past are either (1) made of stretchy fabric or (2) adjustable 'cause they're made out of paper (just re-fold the end to get the right length).

With a leather cover, it almost seems like the cover needs to be custom fit for the thickness of the book. DMG, PHB, Bad Axe Games' "Grim Tales", etc. would probably be one size. But some hardbacks are quite thin (e.g., some of the FR books), so the same size book cover might "pucker" on the back and be (and/or look) too loose. Does this make any sense? :o

We have a room booked through GenCon at the Embassy Suites from Tuesday to Sunday I think. You have to pay for it when you arrive. Last year it cost us just under $1000 for the room for the week at around $126.00 a night for four people.

We figured we'd just ask what book it was for, since Paladin has almost all of them (being the good and addicted DM that he is :D ) or he can find them easily and if worse comes to worse, we'll just ask for a thickness measurement from you! The covers will all be very slightly loose to allow for moveability of the book and avoid holes in the corners or excessive wear from being too tight. The leather wll obviously be a little more hard core, but will also be more costly, something like $25.00 a cover.

Great! Sounds like a good plan to me. :)

you may want to check with the WotC people. they have the rights to some pretty bizarre combos of words and initials.

do you have any love for the OoP guys? i'm looking for Booklet I, Booklet II, Booklet III, Supplement I, Supplement II, etc...

they are of course a bit smaller in size too.

Let's have a sale...starting NOW!!!

We can just ask you to give us the book dimensions so we can get it right.

I think we have taken this thread off the beaten path. What are we going to do about sponsorship?
Well, our monogrammer has become our first sponsor by agreeing to drop monogram prices significantly until GenCon for those of you who wish to place an order during our sale. You can get initials for as little as $.50! And she is taking 25% off of the dakota collectables monograms (and there are like 50,000 of these)! And we've decided that we will run our bags at 1/3 off for the fabric bags only, but this does include Bags of Dice Holding!! Book covers are not part of this sale as we haven't even got the template completely finished yet, but i'm working on it! :D
So what do you say? Let's have a sale!!!!!!!!!!!! E-mail me for quotes until our web guy gets the info on the site. Also, if you still want a random bag of our choosing (you pick the size) then it will be 50% off. How's that sound?!

okay...since everyone wants these book covers right now, here's what we are going to do. I will start accepting orders for them now...however they will not be completed until after GenCon. The reason for this is that we are supposed to premier them at the con, and we don't really want to upset those plans as we have already filled out all the press paperwork saying that is what we will be doing. Will that be okay for everyone? If you order a bag with it, we will try to go ahead and get those done, but if you don't mind waiting and getting them together, then just let us know. I'm letting you do this so that you can be at the head of the line in orders when we get back from GenCon. It took us 3 months to complete the orders last year and there are supposed to be 20% more people this year, not to mention the fact they they hopefully won't be standing in line all day to get their passes! :D

How long are you planning on having the sale? Origins is starting today so my funds are going there right now, butr if the sale is an extended sale I'll look your way in about a week or so.

Sign me up for 1 each of the core 3 - PHB, DMG and MM.

Are these just 'placeholder' orders, or will you have the website ready to process them for real sometime soon?
We are going to try to get it online ASAP. Just e-mail me now and tell me what you want if you want to go ahead and order. I need to know what fabric and any monogram you might want.
