The gates of heaven open

I'm doing a campagn qith evil carater, they rule a town in a country rule by evil, where undead are slave and commoners only regarded as a future undead.
they are enemy of good NPC and I was thinking that the good NPC could succed in opening the doors of heaven to spread love and life.

If any body got some idea feel free to post them

cool concept, let the city be influenced by it, suddenly people who hated each other before now are closest friends. Let guards leave their duties for helping others. Let several raids break out between evil npc's and the (now) good npc's. Perhaps the whole city would turn against the PC's, the PC's would turn into outcasts. Perhaps you could let the PC's seek out a minor artifact that can reverse the opening of the gates. Let them find it in a grand temple of good. Or you could let a massive army of good attack the city, a frontal fight of good vs. evil. Or you could let the formerly evil PC's and the city become a stronghold of good, fighting against the rest of the nation helped by the celestials. They could also meet ghosts more often as the gates are open so what's stopping them anymore? Also the number of encountered celestials should increase...just some things I could think of in 30 sec...

The first wave could be Lantern Archon with the order to destroy all the undead in town.

If the PCs get a chance to somehow reck the gate ritual, here's a possible back-up adventure idea: the ritual backfires and the good NPC by mistake opens up a portal to something much more dangerous than the Upper Planes, like maybe the Positive Energy Plane. Positive energy literally floods out of the gate into the PCs' home world and the undead start to spontaneously combust because positive energy is inherently anathema to undead. Living creatures do not fare well either, being overloaded with the overly abundant life energy to the point where their mortal frames cannot contain it and they explode. And to add to the chaos, ravids, glimmerskins, xag-yas, and other Positive Energy creatures rush into the world from the Positive Plane. They may not be evil, but they are so incomprehensibly alien and dangerous that they are great threats. Evil might have to (very reluctantly) fight alongside good to return things back to save the world.
