The Gates of Hell have opened!

As Selah has said, the next two chapters are very crunchy. However, one thing we have prided ourselves in with this project is ensuring that fluff and crunch are blended together for a great mixture. So, as you get into the "crunchier" portions, you'll find that there's still A LOT of fluff. Many of the epic spells and incantations are filled with flavor relevant to Hell and the Realms Beyond. The PrC flavor (expertly written by Selah) drive home the mechanical points.

And as for the Dukes... Well, they run the gamut in CR from 30 all the way up to... I best not say anymore or else Selah will get annoyed with me. :P

Heh. Titivulus, although the weakest Duke we've statted, is a great read (I can say that because I didn't write him - Titi was all Serge's work). Indeed, he's made a few appearances in some dicefreak online games.
If nothing else, I look forward to reading him. It should provide some insight for me. I'm always looking for schemes my favorite Duke can be working on. And he always has something going, whether I know it or not. ;)

Glad to see it. The only thing lacking seems to be graphics. I suppose no artist was available then. Oh well. Just some minor format observations that you people may like to note:

p.2, left column: potential typo "Archeron". I thought it was Acheron, both in D&D and Greek myth, no?

The following paragraphs are not justified (I mean, text alignment):
p.2, right col., 1st paragraph.
p.12, right col., 2nd paragraph.
p.17, both col.

p.7, text box: Why italics? Other text boxes do not have them.

My 2 cp.

I've already noted all of what you're finding here, Seraph - although I appreciate your concern as well. Formatting issues will be fixed for the final version where all is collated into one; at that time, the chapter by chapter downloads will also be fixed. My own personal version is the fixed version - I haven't bothered sending it to Serge or Kain or anyone else yet.

As far as art is concerned, it's been hard to find people willing to do the art for free, and who are willing to put some time in and follow deadlines. We hope that by the time we put out the all-in-one version that we will have a decent amount of art to add.

A reminder for those that may have missed it - go to Dicefreaks for your free copy of The Gates of Hell: Chapter 1.

Chapter 2 is less than a week away. Yes, it is also free. All 9 chapters of the compendium are free for download.

Loving chapter one, when do the write-ups come on the Dukes?

Well, we just released Chapter 3: Prestige Classes of Perdition (I actually just turned up here to let everyone know), which means we have 3 more chapters before the Dukes chapter. But the Dukes chapter is all written, as are the chapters beforehand (needing only to be placed into the final draft form before placing them at the Dicefreaks site). Did you check out Chapter 2 as well?

I'm not so big on Epic Spellcasting, seeing as I haven't run a game beyond 17th level (that being the only one that ever got above 10th). I saved it anyway, as it may come in handy.

I'll grab a look at Chapter 3 though. Love PrCs.

Was there a plan to put these all together as one .pdf? I'd like to drop by Kinkos and have a nice infernal binding put together.
