D&D General As BG3 Hits 2 Years Over A Million Complete It In Tactician Mode

Also 4,646 players beet Honour Mode with just a 1st-level character!
Baldur's Gate 3 just celebrated its 2-year anniversary, and Larian--the development studio--has shared some fun statistics. Apparently 1.1 million players have completed the game in Tactician Mode, and nearly half a million in Honour Mode.

Baldur's Gate 3 turns two - hard to believe, isn't it?

It feels like only yesterday we were streaming our launch-day Panel From Hell from a cathedral in Ghent and earning a TikTok ban in the process for our druidic love crimes.

But time flies. Two years later, Baldur’s Gate 3 has grown into something far beyond what we could have ever imagined back then - it’s become a shared universe shaped just as much by your imaginations as ours. You've embraced the characters, rewritten the rules, and made the world your own - and it’s been a joy to watch.

Swen’s shared words couldn’t ring more true, and while we’ll spare you our soppy sentimentality, because of Baldur’s Gate 3 and your love for the game, we can now bring you a whole new craziness that we hope you will love just as much.

So let’s celebrate the story so far with the only thing more powerful than magic: cold, hard stats.

I died in Honor Mode due to making a mistake when talking to Vlaa'kith, then continued on anyway and died in the final battle to a falling platform. I feel pretty good about trying again, whenever I decide to.

What is Honor Mode?
It's a mode that makes the game harder in a lot of ways, but the big one is that you only get one save file. If you die, it deletes your save.

Thanks. I've had the game for about a year and never knew about the modes.

I know what you mean. So many new features were patched in shortly after the original release. I understand why, but it was still frustrating.

Like, the Hexblade is one of my favorite subclasses and I would have loved to play one, but by the time they patched it into the game I had already put 60 hours in to my Honor Mode playthrough, my characters were all max level, and I had just started Act III.
