The Heretic of Wyre

Mostin shuddered at the thought of their feathery wings and decided that the Demoness probably knew best.

This is my favorite line from this installment. Love it!

This premise will be amply demonstrated in due course.

Two weeks passed before Eadric walked into the castle at Trempa. He was filthy, haggard and had grown a long beard.
"Nice beard," said Ortwin.
"Thanks," Eadric replied.
"You’re two months late," said Nehael.
"Er, yes. Sorry about that."

So did he meet the celestial Rintrah?
So four more posts and you're caught up?
stats for the PCs? Maybe on the rogue's gallery. Especially interested in how you write up Nahael.

Patience is not my forte'. :p

I don't see how it'd be hard to write up Nehael. Just take your average Succubus and add a level of Druid and Contemplative. Speaking of a level of Druid, what's her animal companion? Hell, what's Nwm's?

One bit of confusion, though. Rintrah or whomever was speaking to Nehael (this was the last post in the other thread), and said she was welcome back. But she's now a Druid and worshipper of the Goddess (I forget the name of the old religion). So how is it she's being allowed back in if she's now a follower of a different religion? Damned Inquisitors interfering! If it weren't for them then Nehael could've been brought into Oronthon worship, rather than into the old religion.

And why would she (or you) prefer Oronthon worship, rather than into the old religion? ;)

one of the things i like about this story hour are the wizards. mostin, mulissu and troap are all very interesting and distinctive (we don't know much about idro yet)

the npcs in this story are great. one of the terrible temptations for dms (not playing pc's themselves) is to insert kewl npcs. all the npcs in this story are essential, but none of them overshadow the party members. this is great dming.

There actually are stats in the Rogue's Gallery, although not for Nahael, IIRC. Don't know how recent they are, though.

I was wondering about this comment, and so I went looking for "useful" spells last night. Several came to mind:

Elemental Swarm
Sympathy
Earthquake
Repel Metal or Stone
Command Plants
Whirlwind
Control Weather
Creeping Doom
Firestorm
Fire Seeds
Wall of Fire/Thorns/Stone
Insect Plague
Sleet Storm
Spike Stones (especially if you Enlarge it a few times...)
Spike Growth (as above)

This is just from looking at the list in brief, without looking up and reading individual spell descriptions.

Yup, Druids are nasty.

By the way, nice story hour.
