The Hunted (DM: IronSky, Judge: ???)

"Looking over his things...They have a look of newness to them. His clothing seems to be freshly tailored and he has only the faintest of tan-lines where his rings were; here." Earth points at the man's hands. "He hasn't been wearing them long."

Auntie Mab frowns and moves his hands around, all mystically. "Let's see what the spirits of the feywild tell me child.

Xander turns the mans hand over for everyone to see the tattoo of a square-sailed ship cresting a wave.

"Does anyone know what this symbol may mean?" he asks the others as he himself opens himself to Maros, to see if the symbol may have any sort of religious implications.

Maros is apparently not taking any calls at the moment........

"I don't know about that, but there is Gray family in Daunton. I just don't recollect where at the moment. Let's see the guards at the tavern, they can give us instructions and guard this place instead of the tavern."

We need not wait for instructions, as we have been accorded the responsibility to see this matter through. Raijin finally speaks up, urging the group towards further investigation. The tattoo is of a ship, so remember the incident at the Lucky Lucy in the harbor at Pier 6. Also Backtown district where another occurrence was noted may be near that.

[sblock=OOC] Checking the wiki I couldn't find "Backtown" but here goes the IC roll

Devinihm nods. "If the clothes are new as Earth believes, this one may have come from that ship," the wilden says. "After we send guards to take the body to the morgue, I think the ship should be our next stop."

((OOC: I can't imagine a ship tattoo would have any special Nature relevance, but Devinihm has a +11 in Nature, so 21 if he's taking 10))

The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 1, Minute 49

The party continues to examine and discuss the crime scene. Faint tendrils of fog begin to sneak along the bases of the buildings, rolling in slowly from the sea.

[sblock=Auntie Mab]By examining the makeup of the hairs with analytical magics, they are clearly from a creature born of the Elemental Chaos. What exactly, however, is another matter...[/sblock]

[sblock=Xander]*Three tones chime* A detached, mechanical-sounding woman's voice intones "We are sorry, the god you are trying to contact is disconnected or no longer in service. Please give up your prayer and try again." A similar sounding male voice says "Area code 572, Daunton."[/sblock]

Auntie Mab gives a violent start, dislodging Tristram from his perch on her shoulder, as the "spirits" she called out to actually respond. She quickly tries to play off this momentary loss however by entering a (not very convincing) "oracular trance," complete with shaking hands, and her head jerking violently from side to side.

"I sense... chaos," she intones. "Twas not the faeriefolk that left these hairs dearies, but they do recognize the lingering traces of the realms below."

Then, shaking off the jittery effect of her contact with the fey realm, she adds in a more natural tone, "I reckon it was probably a bazzlebaum. Hideous creatures they are, with silvery fur, three bulging yellow eyes, big floppy rabbit ears, and one giant buck-tooth that they use for cracking open the skulls of rich men and naughty children that wander out after dark!"

Having regained his perch atop her shoulder, Tristram emits a tiny nasal sigh, and rolls his little black eyes in disgust at his mistress' tall tales.

"Bazzlebaums are notoriously hard to catch, but this one was obviously after whatever that poor man had in his pocket. If we have time, it might be worth looking in on the Gray family to see if they know about a recent discovery or windfall poor Mr. Dartanian might have made. Now where was it that they live..." the old woman's brows furrow as she ponders.

OOC: Back from my honeymoon, and all caught up on the thread now!

Auntie Mab will make a Streetwise check (1d20+8=22), to recall the location of the Gray family residence and any recent news Auntie Mab might have heard about them.

The wilden frowns, trying to picture the creature Mab describes, but finds it all a bit baffling to his own experience. At mention of the Gray family, however, he nods.

"They may be able to help us see a connection between him and the other victims."

The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 1, Minute 50

The fog thickens slowly, swirling around your feet...

[sblock=Auntie Mab]You recall that the Gray family lives in the Hills District, in fact, not far from the 178 High Lane murder scene.[/sblock]
