The I'm trying to find a thread Thread

Okay, I've tried dozens of searches but I can't seem to find a thread that I could swear I saw here a couple months ago.

Do you guys know of a thread where the OP talked about players who were basically amoral and didn't give two cents about the world, and towards the thread's end there was a reply that was a masterfully epic piece of DM planning about how when the players decide its time to be heroes, they are unable to save the world and it falls into ruin because all the petty little things they did contributed to the sociological decay of the world and its downfall thereby bringing the thread to a hushed silence?

Any idea what I'm talking about guy?

Yes, and my eyes are beginning to get crossed.

I'm also beginning to notice that many of the older threads are deleted so I'm worried it's gone gone gone.

That's unlikely. An excellent way to broadly search EN World is to use an Advanced Google Search. You'll have to come up with better parameters based on your memory of what might have been specifically discussed in that thread, but here an example using "ruin" and "petty" with enworld.org as the site to search -

- Google Search

Sometimes if you can combine one memorable phrase (good to put an actual phrase in quotes) with the screennames of one or two of the participants, you will be golden.

Thanks for the tip, but that's exactly what I was using. Advanced Google Search is great for broad cross examination of entire site contents and use it on ENworld myself.

I'm worried that I am misremembering this and it was on RPGNet. Which is unlikely since I'm never there.

For some reason the first part of that reminds me of something, too, though I do not recall the resultant backlash described.
