The Initiator - Mark IV

Nytmare

[EDIT -- Oh my gosh, I posted this in the wrong forum.]

So my traitorous brain conspired against me having a lazy Sunday full of sleeping in and lounging in front of the TV. It woke me up at six in the morning and insisted that I crawl downstairs to my computer to churn out the computer program I had been dreaming of.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that I'm having dreams about writing D&D computer programs, or the fact that they somehow, miraculously, manage to work.

If you're a real programmer, please forgive me. I'm an artist by training, and mostly by trade, and my programs tend to be more of a coral reef of random ideas than anything well thought out and planned.

It's an Excel file and it's rife with visual basic and macros. This is the rough version still. I think I've got all the major bits of functionality that I want. Now it's just on to polish and bugfinding.

Green bits are where you put stuff. Grey parts are where the magic happens and you're not allowed to type.

Putting something in the "ADDITIONAL" column hilights it and the character's name. Look! That Mean Orc is on fire!

The "DAMAGE" column adds your number to the "DAMAGE DEALT" thingy and subtracts it from the total HP. Half HPs turns "HP REMAINING" red. Death makes em grey.

ROLL of course rolls a new initiative round.

CLEAR clears the initiative part of the program out and fills in the basic PC information from the bottom chart.

MOVE UP and DOWN repositions a name in the lineup for purposes of readying, holding or other initiative based shenanigans.

XP is rounded up to the highest variable of 5 because I'm silly like that.

The XP WORKSHEET should be self explanatory.

I'm assuming that someone out there will find this (at least almost) as useful as I think I will. Are there any bits that you think might be useful, or should be done differently?
