"The Inside" - Tim Minnear Series Tonight

Just a reminder to any fans of Tim Minnear's previous works (Firefly, Angel, Wonderfalls) - that he is producing and writing a new series called "The Inside" - a Crime-drama-type series about a fresh new FBI academy graduate who is both a prodigy, and whose development as both an agent and an ethical human being is being fought as the series progresses.

With very little field experience, rookie F.B.I. Agent Rebecca Locke will become part of a sinister and unsavory world when she is recruited to join the Bureau's Los Angeles Violent Crimes Unit as a new profiler. A special division headed by Supervisory Special Agent Virgil "Web" Webster that is devoted to investigating the darkest and most heinous crimes committed by human beings.

Unbeknownst to Rebecca, her traumatic past that she has struggled to bury and keep hidden from others is the sole reason why Web has recruited her. That what had tormented Rebecca so long ago will give her a unique insight and place her in a specific mindset to help her tackle these cases. This is also the case with her new colleagues as Web knows each of their past histories and secrets. It remains unclear the lengths that he is willing to go with his agents in order to successfully solve a crime.

Anyone planning on watching it? I plan to give tonight a whirl, mostly because of some good reviews on Ain't it Cool, and I'll basically keep watching it until it's cancelled (which, knowing Fox, will be about 4 episodes from now. :p)

P.S. - For any Adam Baldwin fans, he's one of the co-stars. :)

I thought it was decent, not great. Some of the plot points seemed a little forced, like the story was being pushed along instead of just flowing.

I loved it, myself. How many shows start with the protagonists finding out that [sblock]their teammate is the unrecognizable corpse you've just been called in to process?[/sblock]

Rebecca Locke is a seriously :):):):)ed up character, and one worth investigating. She's a wilty flower one minute, headstrong the next, and the twin-peaks level absurdity of the image of the guy in the cowboy shirt with the chocolate ice cream cone is definitely worth finding out about.

Virgil Webster I can already tell is going to be a fun guy. My favorite line:

[sblock]"Simon Gunther!
*BLAM!*
Stand down! damn, got that backwards again..."

Kicking into the turbine, anyone?

Adam Baldwin is good, but seems to be playing a modern-day Jayne Cobb in a business suit. The other characters I like, and Webster I think may be my favorite, even though he's supposed to be the unlikable one.

I enjoyed it. And it's on Fox. Damn.

Adam Baldwin is the main reason I want to check it out. I'm just glad to see the guy getting a paycheck again. But yeah, since its' on Fox I'm not seeing a very long life span for it...

I missed it and forgot to tape it. :( I really was looking forward to this show. Is anyone who taped it willing to dub me a copy I will be happy to pay for a tape and shipping?

I was quite disappointed. Very standard serial killer stuff, only partially saved by Peter Coyote and Adam Baldwin. I can't imagine watching it again.
