The Jade Frontier (DM: Ukingsken, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Pacing back and forth Brenwar worries about his friend who has disappeared behind the gate.

I'm back in the states now, ready and willing to post
That sucks Mr Bricks. I'm glad to see you are back around.

Just as Brenwar begins to get worried Mr. Bricks slips out of the compound and closes the door behind him. Motioning behind him for Brenwar to follow, Mr. Bricks sets off back toward the house.

When you arrive, he quietly opens the door, sliding inside quietly and closing the door behind you.

Not to much to report really. Inside the compound is the lords house, the guards barracks, and what I can only guess is an armory. All three places are overguarded so I didn't get much of a chance to poke my head inside. Nothing overly suspicious looking though. What happened here?

After Mr. Bricks is up to speed he lets out a low whistle and rocks back and forth on his heels.
Well, lets get some rest and get back at it in the morning. Not a whole lot more we can do skulking around with no one about to answer any questions. Any volunteers to take first watch?

[sblock=The Screamer] Just wanted some thoughts/feedback. Up to this point I've had my fictitious reporter for The Screamer been "invisibly" following you so to speak getting material for her big story (thats you guys).

Every now and then she updates the screamer thread with a slightly humorous/tabloid style spin on whats going on. But I got thinking today "wouldn't it be neat if at the end of this adventure she wrote a feature article on the characters, in essence giving me an incharacter way to do up a synopsis in a few thousand words that people could/would want to read?"

In that vein I'd like to know what you all think about that? Sound like a neat idea? I always like finding the posts where someone has basically serialized an adventure and turned it into a story to read. And I might even try to introduce my fictional reporter (Lanessa Longtooth) into the story just a little bit to interract with the characters.

However, because of her slightly comedic tone I don't want it to detract from your overall enjoyment of some of the fairly intense and excellent roleplaying you have all done so far... so yeah, thats all... Just a minor edit really... Opinions? Also go! Roleplay! Yay team!

And sorry if I stepped on your toes by NPC'ing their rum, just wanted to move things along.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC:] Not a problem with me at all I can't WAIT to see a whole story written on our actions which can be completely random at times in a game like this... sounds sweet![/sblock]

Brenwar raises an eyebrow at the tale of what happens to Patronis, but doesn't push the obviously sensitive issue. "I don't mind taking the first watch," he says in reply to Mr. Bricks.

[sblock=ooc]That's great! I love the concept of an outsider commenting on the reactions to the actions the PC's make, looks like it's making for an interesting read so far. [/sblock]

"I do not mind taking the second watch as long as Patronis believe he can control when that demon asserts itself, otherwise I'll not be able to sleep while he remains awake."

Insight = 15

I do not think it's a matter of control as I have none when it possesses me... though I do feel the only way that is possible is through study of the events we've uncovered so far.... rest of everyone I think is most prudent for now though... the wise warlock says softly as he lays out his things for a good nights rest...

As the night progresses each of you takes their turn at watch. The town is eerily quiet, the only noise coming during Shayla's watch when the guard changes.

The more Shayla thinks on it, the more she is convinced that Patronis "controlled" this incident of possession, albeit subconsciously. She is quite certain that the entity would be unable to force Patronis to do something against his will.

As dawn rolls around, the town begins to come to life. Farmers from the various homes and lodging houses head out the gates in the predawn light to tend the fields. Just down the street an open air market is quickly taking shape with locals selling all kinds of local produce and goods. As the sun crests the horizon so begins the sound of hammer on steel, as somewhere in the distance a smithy is fired.

Suddenly, Brenwars eyes snap wide open and he wakes up with a scream of terror, drenched in sweat.

You have had dreams, bad dreams, nightmares of shadows and blood. You were walking in endless dark corridors, surrounded by whispering voices from the shadows, beckoning you onwards. After several moments you remember where you are, but cannot shake the vivid images and voices.

As he awakes with a start he reaches for his hammer and shield prepared to defend himself. Quickly realizing it was just a horrible dream he wondders if what they learned last night was somehow connected to the awful nightmare. Brenwar quickly prepares for the day and heads for the common room intent to tell his companions of the nightmares.

Patronis sits up quickly a green glow of fire stems from his hand.... he was ready to strike at whatever had made the noise but as he notes it was Brewar he halts his infernal blast and looks at him puzzled.... Are you alright Bren? the human asks softly...

Cheysuli Sage

The noise of the room slowly rousing awakens Cheysuli calmly; her dreams had been memories of home. She had been in places of great beauty and wonder that she had seen with her father on their year long pilgrimage; Chey was 13 when that had happened.

Cheysuli sat up and rubbed her eyes with the balls of her fists, trying to awaken herself properly; but she only managed to elicit a large yawn, which in turn was drowned out by a loud rumble from her stomach. With the sudden memory of where she is, Chey covers her mouth too late, and look around embarassed at those who are already awake.

"Sorry, but it was a late night and i have awoken with a great big empty hole in my belly, one that wishes to be filled as soon as is possible!"

In her sleepy state Chey is completely unaware of the sweat on Brenwar's brow, or the worry on Patronis'.
