The Jade Frontier, part 2 (DM: THB, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Firete walks towards the direction of the noise, her sword still drawn and not taking any chances. Who goes there? Identify yourself!

[sblock=TwoHeads]For the record, TwHeads, you did not record my movement. I was right in front of the sharpshooter in column 3 and he attacked Brenwar. It doesn't matter now of course, I'm just sayin' ;)[/sblock]

[sblock=excuses]Nope! Don't have any. Sorry about being so lax with positioning. Hopefully I'll be better at in in the future.[/sblock]

As you move down the hallway, you see that there are three cells, each against the northern wall. The closest two are empty, but from the third...

"It speaks? And in Allarian. My loyal clansmen are dead." The speaker sharply inhales before continuing, "Pity. Well, it asked my name. Rivith. And its?" The voice is strange, calm but with a halting cadence. It does not sound like Allarian is the speaker's native tongue. And when you reach his cell, you see it is not. The cell contains a hobgoblin, blindfolded and chained to the wall. His mostly bare body shows marks of torture, most likely received from the room you were just in. He is also very pale, possibly albino.

//Chey will spend one healing surge to get her up to 29/31. Katana, is Firete using her song of rest?//

Her curiosity driving her, Cheysuli follows Firete to the cell. Upon seeing the tortured hobgoblin she gives a little gasp.
"...Oh... Rivith, what did they do to you?!"

Without waiting for an answer, Chey starts inspecting the cell door to see how difficult it's going to be to get it open.

"Pity? Concern? Curious. They tortured me. Should be obvious. Perhaps it meant to ask why." Another sharp inhalation. "I would be happy to answer, if it would take off the blindfold. Tired of the dark. Want to see it and its friends. Then, answers. For both of us."

The door is locked. You might be able to pick it open, although it occurs to you that one of the jailers might have the key. A quick examination shows this to be the case.

As Cheysuli and Firete head off to investigate the noises from down the hall, Miranna rasped a warning. "Don't get dead, down there. If it is dangerous just shout..." With that said, though, she made no move to follow them- instaed she took up a post just inside the door of the torture room, facing back the way they had come. She had no wish to have their route out cut off by goblin reinforcements...

OOC: Take a spot just inside the door, with a clear LoS to the corner where we came in, and afr enough inside that any attackers would have to be visible before they strike. Once the prisoner issue is sorted, I would vote for a short rest- I'd actually like to do that BEFORE letting the prisoner out, but Miranna won't interrupt things...

Seeing the last of the enemies fall Brenwar does a quick search of the bodies for anything of note. Finding the key he hands it over toe Chey and stands near by in case there are any problems from their new "friend."

I'll spend a surge whenever we get our short rest on

After felling the last of the goblins, Yishim turns to the party: Thanks, all - my fury got the better of me at times, but you can't argue with the results. Still, I wouldn't have made it through without you!. With that he stands with Miranna watching the entrance - prepared for anything.

A short rest before continue, did you say? Firete says, putting away her wand and sword and getting out her harp.

OOC: If there's a short rest, then I will play Song of Rest.

As Brenwar passes Chey the key she smiles at him thankfully; "There may be other items of worth here, it is probably worth giving the room a thorough search."

That said, the tiefling carefully unlocks the cell door. Without letting her guard down, she gingerly lifts the blindfold from the albino hobgoblin's eyes; "There Rivith. I am Cheysuli, and this," Chey indicates the bard standing at the cell door with harp in hand, "Is Firete. I have to admit, while I pity the situation you are in I am in no hurry to release you from your bonds, not until I believe that you will not harm us, nor warn your kin that we are here." She smiles warily at the creature, and watches him carefully as he answers.

[sblock=Insight]1d20+7=13, not brilliant, but would do as an aid another for Firete?[/sblock]
