The Jade Frontier, part 2 (DM: THB, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

That is assuming this Malgrim character is willing to talk to us, says Firete. The passages to the south could tell us quite a bit about this place..but they can wait. But I agree, lets go to this storeroom first, maybe we can find something...

You head to the store room and start opening crates. You are in luck: the storeroom does in fact contain a number of items that you may find useful, in addition to more mundane goods. The most noticeable one is a large hammer made of a silvery metal that shines strangely in the light. It appears to hold on to the light for slightly longer than you'd expect. The effect is curious, but not unnerving.

Wrapped in a cloth is a glass orb. At first it is empty, but where you touch it minuscule fractures form on the surface. They quickly spread across and within the entire globe, but just when it looks like the sphere will shatter something pulses from within the orb. At once all the cracks meld together, and the object is whole once more.

There is also another potion similar to the ones you've found before. It's in the same type of bottle, and the label has been written in the same careful script. However, the liquid inside this one is sky-blue, and the label reads "Precision".

There is also a sizable amount of gold.

[sblock=translation and questions]Vanguard's Warhammer, Orb of Unlucky Exchanges, 500 gp, and a Potion of Clarity.

First question: to the people who have the Cloak of Distortion on their wishlists, you do know that the penalty to attacks has been reduced to the item's enhancement bonus, right?

Second, what books do people have access to? If I hand out something from AV2, am I going to need to tell you what it does?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I have access to all the books released. As for the cloak, I don't really mind about the errata, but if you know of something that does what I'm looking for better (make chey harder to hit, or increase her stealthiness), the go for that :)[/sblock]

Brenwar raises an eyebrow at the warhammer, "If no one objects I feel I could put this to good use." He lifts the hammer and gives it a few practice swings.

If no one cares I will gladly take that magical hammer.

As far as items I have access to DnD insider so I should be good to go, and I prefer items with properties that always are on rather than daily items. Other then that I don't have any item preferences.
[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I have a DDI Subscription as well, as long as you tell me what it is and I can find it. And it's up to date as of today.
I would like to say that there is nothing so far in these hordes that I have liked :(

How much gold is there?

Before entering the room, Firete retrieves her dagger and rope where she left them in the other door. She examines the items they have found but there is nothing that particularly attracts her interest.

Yishim takes up the orb, lost in contemplation. I've read about these, and cannot wait to unleash its power...
[sblock=OOC]Had not realized that about the cloak. Open to any other ideas you have for equipment, noting that I will re-tool Yishim to an illusionist at the next opportunity. I also have a DDI subscription so choose any items that make sense.[/sblock]

While the others searched through the storeroom, Miranna seemed content to stand guard near the door of the torture room- just in case...

[sblock= OOC] I have most of the published rulebooks, so shouldn't have trouble finding out about most items- but Miranna isn't likely to get more loot for a while. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Re: available sources

Alright, cool.

Re: treasure

There's 500 gp. And don't worry Katana. This is not the last part of the "Welcome to level 2 or close enough to level 3" treasure. You guys got a bunch of xp from the Emissary fight (500 per person), which was more than I had accounted for when handing over the rewards. I'm going to playing catch-up for a little while longer.[/sblock]

Firete carefully divides the gold, and then looks up at the others. Are we going to split it up now, or better to wait until we get back into town? As for the other two items, the potion and the cloak, if no one wants to claim them at present, we can just take them and move on. I don't think we should linger in here.
