Speaking of bad puns...
In high school, my friend and I were playing Populous (the original one), and in that game, you can create a Knight and he will go on a crusade and eradicate the opponent's heathens for you. Quite effective.
Well, we're watching this one particular area and I had several knights roaming about the world mopping up heretics, and one this one land mass one knight left, and another one came in to replace him.
And I said, "Oh, must be the (k)night shift", not realizing what I had just said.
